Ha ha! THIS is why I sketch things on paper first and THEN work on it digitally.I'm REALLY happy with how this turned out. It's been a while since I've done a pic of anything Halo related, let alone my Sangheili boy Hauk. So here we have Hauk 'Samilei the Sangheili showing off why he is a sword master. The armor he wears is that of an Honor Guard, it belonged to his grandfather, one of the front prongs is broken (a mark sustained during his grandfather's time when the Honor Guards had to suppress a small riot).
Even though Hauk continues to wear that armor he actually no longer associated with the covenant, he was one of the first to secede due to ideological reasons. He hence became labeled a heretic and convicted of treason, which lead him to a life of being constantly on the run.
Eventually I'll explain more about Hauk, hopefully if I ever start this one project.
As a note to any who know some Sanheili culture, he IS a sword master which means he can never marry but is supposed to "spread his genetics". Hauk being Hauk.... honestly has never had any interest in that part of his culture, although he does seem to like children.

Honor Guards always had a cool design and it's a shame they only got to use their axes in one of the Halo Wars cutscenes.

I absolutely loved the Honor Guards in Halo 2! I am rather sad to see they didn't make as big a return in Halo 3 and no mention at ALL in Halo: Reach. But with this single image, you do ALL of Sanghellios justice to the once noble and proud Honor Guard Elite!

=^_^= very awesome pic and elite. the armour kinda reminds me a little of the amber armour from oblivion, the patch with the shivering isles. hehe honor gaurd are among my favorite elites

Very badass amazing drawing! I love Sangheili Honor guard armor and this drawing came out fantastic! Plus he looks really epic and badass duel wielding his two energy swords

His main secondary weapon is actually a sniper rifle and back-up is typically a gravity hammer. Basically he prefers to be very precise and likes the finesse of sleek weapons that take great skill to master, clean and true. But in a bind smashing everyone around him works well too.. hee

His personality and beliefs are deeply rooted in a traditional Japanese samurai style honor system. To him a weapon should be precise, and so should its wielder. If I ever get the time he'll be appearing in a comic based around the Halo world.

Admittedly this isn't 100% accurate Honor Guard armor as I tweaked it to be more to my "liking". The helmet size being one of them because the original looked kinda oddly big to me, I wanted his eyes to be seen easily, I kinda tweaked in a shogun manner. So you are in fact correct. (;
