My very first tutorial : DPlease bear with me, ok? There could be typos. It pretty much explains everything in the tutorial.

I needed to look at a nice picture where you could figure out some different kinds of highlights on the eye, and I like that you added the direction of the eyelashes too! Very useful

Awesome tutorial!
ItΒ΄s very well explained and I just love the eyelashes part!
I also think that I can use various advices you gave here for digital drawings, too!
You could try to enhance a couple of things with red lines (like you did on the eyelashes) on other pictures, too!
And maybe you should also add a higher contrast on the piicture of your first sketch layer. ItΒ΄s pretty difficult to make something out on that one.
Otherwise thanks a lot for this tut, itΒ΄s so hard to fing somthing like this one on DA that doesnΒ΄t focus on manga style eyes.

It was a little hard for me to do the red lines, since i had to use a mouse (i need that pen thing...) but i'll try to do more for my next tutorial ^_^
And for the contrast; yeah...my scanner sucks

The toughest part for some of us is working on a much smaller scale, even with magnifying glass - it's tough to get the pencil sharp enough sometimes.

I love how it looks like a black & white picture!! I am deffiantly going to draw my own eyes with this.... do you reccomend me take a pic of my eye and use as reference?

As long as it's a HQ,and at an angle that would keep your interest long enough to keep drawing, i would reccomend it
Like for this picture, it was my sister's eye...so nothing too fancy. But I almost lost interest because the angle wasn't inspiring to me. But I had it in mind for a tutorial, so this angle was the best for it.
