15" l x 9.5" h x 5" w
Super sculpey firm over a wire and foil armature. This piece is a maquette that will be used as reference for a large carousel-style woodcarving of the dog. It will probably end up being larger than life-size.

Tim's work is amazing, and I can't even begin to express how honored and grateful I am that he asked me to sculpt something for him.
This was a challenge to sculpt, and a challenge to paint as well, and I am very, very happy with the outcome. Tim is happy with it as well, which is what matters most!
A huge thank you to for helping me with the lighting in the shots on the bottom. It was a challenge to get good photos of this piece, and I couldn't have done it without him!

I don't have a problem with pit bulls--in fact, I own one and love the breed, but like I said, you're welcome to your opinion of them. I obviously don't share it with you, but I also have no interest in arguing with you about whether the breed is good, bad, or ugly. My dog has changed people's minds about the breed in real life and that's enough for me.
I'm glad you think the sculpture is good, though.

Those poor things are so misunderstood
You have a higher chance of getting killed by another human or another breed of dog if you asked me. After all, many other breeds of dogs that are supposed to βalways be friendlyβ or make βperfect family petsβ such as Labradors and Golden retrievers are actually more aggressive than pit bulls and have bitten more people than them. I donβt hate those dogs of course; Iβm just making a point.

Amazing! It looks really realistic! May I ask what did you paint it with, or how? I've heard that it's a bit hard to paint works made from super sculpey... :0

I painted it with acrylics. The first and second layers were a basecoat I painted with an airbrush, and after that, all of the work was done by hand with a brush.
I've never really had trouble with painting sculpey. It might be difficult if you were painting an unprimed piece or didn't let the layers of paint dry before applying more, but I wouldn't say it's difficult to paint sculpey pieces.

Thanks! It just takes practice--and there are people out there far more skilled than me. You'd probably love 's gallery--he is an inspiration and a genius when it comes to sculpting, and he does a lot of work with sculpey.
