I love it. You could add a miniature egg on the tree inside (and possibly, a tree inside of that and so on...) and call it "Infinity". But that's just the miniaturist in me, talking
Great work

Cool concept. Nice execution. Call it a seed instead of an egg and you've got a philosophical conundrum. What came first -- tree or seed?

How I came across ur pic: I was searching for trees and roots to paint on miself.

That.. is simply beautiful. What would have been more interesting is a quail egg in the tree inside the egg. It would probably too fragile though.

Simply gorgeous. The colors and the tiny painting inside are delish. Overall effect is great! (where'd you get the egg?)

WOW! Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. The only thing that is actually painted on the inside is the sky and mountains, the tree is a little sculpture! I get the eggs from an ostrich farm in my parents town.

So lovely! I'm glad I found at least one piece of egg art on DA. My mum makes some wonderful pieces of art with eggs (actually I was told she just won best in show with an ostrich egg made into a helmet about five minutes ago )

I can't seem to convince her to get a DA account... alas I will keep trying

Lovely work

Very, very nice. I'm thinking of getting started with this sort of egg work. Once I get some money in my bank to afford a kit, anyway!

Thank you so much. I enjoy working with different art mediums and this was so much fun. Fortunately I was given a large amount of eggs and supplies to get me started. Check on line for the ostrich eggs.

I've been pointed to a site called eggstravaganza and they've got some good beginner kits using goose eggs, but they also have Ostrich eggs too. I'm just counting down the days until my student loan arrives and then I can blow a month's budget on tools and kits! Luckily I do jewellery-making and card-making too, so I actually already have a lot of the tools I need.
