Just a rough, updated take on two old OC's. I've always thought about the story I started with them years back, and it would be an interesting side project to counterbalance my sci-fi one. I'd just like to update their designs and provide more concepts and backstory before trying a soft reboot. As always not everything is set in stone yet so things might change.

The idea still revolves around two snow spirits (loosely based off the Yuki-onna from Japanese folklore) in a fictional/fantasy world where monsters and the undead exist, and humanity already or nearly wiped out.

Frostnip is a mysterious and evil spirit who's been waiting for the return of her mother every winter, who she believes will return only during the harshest winter. To pass the time, Frostnip uses her powers to resurrect frozen dead girls into other snow spirits to play with as her big sister. Unfortunately for them, she often twists their forms or bestows upon them freakish powers for her own amusement as well as to cause mischief among the other creatures and the human survivors. When Frostnip gets bored with them or finds them to be too non-compliant with her wishes, she discards them like old or broken toys.

Mayu is Frostnip's latest creation. Once the daughter of a merchant, Mayu was a soft-spoken and gentle girl but also responsible and independent as an apprentice merchant. Her father decided to take her on a trip to the imperial capital as a treat for her 17th birthday, and had high hopes for her continuing the family business in the future. Unfortunately their caravan was beset by a mysterious blizzard during the travel and it left no survivors. Her only memory of the event was waking up as an undead monster and face to face with Frostnip, who seemed really eager to meet her.
