The reference to the internal combustion engine is cool...it fuels us all, as the flames demonstrate. Well done.

It's the draft keeping the window open waiting that's the trouble!

I like the warm cozy feeling this piece transmits. The orange in this really compliments your positive and negative space well.
If you're going to place text in the negative space, might I suggest you use white lettering? Unless of course there is a special reason why you chose ark lettering.
Great collage I like it.

Thanks very much, Shane. Have to confess some experimenting putting this one together, I wasn't sure that dark text in the dark area was going to show up at all, but then it did - so your point is taken. I really appreciate the look and the comment.

This one has a special flavour as I notice that you arrange for ame ('soul' in French) rhyme with flame.

That is a happy accident, the "ame" is there with "flame" on purpose, and I know the French word, but was not thinking of it when I made the piece. Thank you for seeing and commenting!

thank you so much!
the mood of this card - a feeling i discovered in making it rather than one i was having when i began. i think!
and sometimes the right question is better than an answer? at least in art!

Thanks so much!
And sorry, I have a big, super-secret reason I won't be trading for a while...
Well, no, not really. But I need a little collection of my work here where it can be shown physically as well as on the monitor. Really appreciate the request, though.

just a gleam in someone's eye at this point... but possibly. Not for a while, and it will all be appropriately ballyhooed if it should come to pass.

"holding thumbs" = "crossing fingers" ?

Oops! Yep - they're the same. I think holding thumbs is a South-Africanism

Lovely! Here's my favourite:
We have a wonderful saying in Afrikaans: "jy maak droog". It translates as "you're making dry", although the English translation doesn't capture the feeling. Roughly, it means that someone is being a pain, and overdoing/making a mess of something until everyone's sick of it. For example: if a two-year old throws a really long tantrum, you could tell them "jy maak nou droog" ("You're now making dry"). Or if I was painting something, and completely overworking it and ruining it, I'd say "ek maak nou lekker droog" (Literally: "I'm now making nicely dry").
I just love it

Rock on, dude! this and meditation appear to be a bit of an evolution for you, right?
To me, they seem to have a bit more of an individual style emerging, as compared to some of the earlier cards.
I like the earlier cards quite a bit as well, but these feel much more unique to you.

Thanks very much indeed. And well, yes, I think the work is evolving, though I feel like it's a step forward, a step back and a step sideways sometimes.
Really appreciate the comment.
