I have to agree with you. Each stage is intriguing on its own. I love seeing the progression of ideas.

And it's cool for the artists because we can count the ones coming after us to do something good. We have to make a good move but we don't have to finish the piece. Except for the last one to work on it - and that's not a bad position to be in either.

Thanks, Diane. And thanks again for the Mechanix Illustrated - it was just what I needed for scraps for this piece.

A silly question: do you buy a lot of magazines or did you save a lot of them??.... Anyway, there is a lot of style in your compositions....

It's a good question, and the answer is I save them. Because I usually work with pretty small scraps they pile up and last a long time. With this piece here, the scraps came from a magazine that Diane ~ebbing-gale gave me - the pictures didn't speak to her but she thought I could use them and she was right
And thank you very much!

Welcome! ...But I have another question... ...Sometime I think you put together images and words with some "odd logic sequence", but sometime I don't "see" it... ...But of course, if the composition "talks" to me it is ok anyway!
...But now... ...now, tell me!

Well let me see... I will use an odd logic sequence if one turns up, like here, the hand with the big ring is making kind of a halo over the button. But basically I proceed visually, compositionally, to create rhythms and flows and patterns and stuff like that. The wheel of the car, for example, complements the button... and the "sure cure for" scrap is in a nice big font compared to the text on the right, I knew that was something I wanted, to balance all the small text.
