Ship of the Month Club Winner!!

Our judge picked this image as the best Ship of the Month Club render for March 2011.
As I reported in the alternate view of this image, our guest judge was very taken with the artist’s decision to show the space station in silhouette. He felt this greatly increased the drama of the image and highlighted the distinctive shape of the station. He liked this particular cropping and framing of the image because of the way it put an exclamation point on the pure graphic appeal of K-7.

Congratulations! Well done!

This really gives the impression of a station in deep space.

Yup, definitely on the list for a "new and improved" version for when the modeling bug bites me again. And I still have to finish my robot freighter model!

Well, the model itself is terrible, done with only basic shapes and before I understood what uv mapping was. But showing the model strongly backlit solves a myriad of deficiencies.
