How I draw sucky tree (done on SAI)===================
<> I set up the base shape and color first (all done on regular brush setting)
<> Add darker color
<> Blend it (I used water tool to blend)
<> Repeat the process with lighter color (Most of the time I stopped at this, especially if the tree is far away from view)
<> Using regular brush I add leaves details (one leaf per stroke, it may look tiring but it is pretty fun)
<> Using the same kind of stroke just add darker and ligher coloured leaves
<> Blend it away to make it look more 'blend'? 8D
<> And done~! (sometimes I use 3-5 different color shades depending on the overall tone of the picture)
I hope it helps you somehow (maybe just for a good laugh), and sorry if my English is hard to understand.
I made this for *ikizaku , decided to upload it since I haven't uploaded anything for quite a while. This isn't a proper tutorial at all, I made it like in 5 minutes. So if you want to draw a tree properly, don't look at this then why you upload it?

yes you'll definitely get better with practice 
I start by makin simple bushes and gradually progress to a tree. it'll help to practice using a photo of a real tree too
