Hi, everybody!
Here’s my Kaiju entry for the Helpful Bear Contest. I’ve called it Obsolom, which is derived from the latin word for “date”, as this monster were the Judgement Day itself.
Obsolom comes from an ancient Lost World, an archipelago forgotten by time. There, this Kaiju species -along with other rare animals- has evolved independently in isolation. Fauna and flora have increased their size dramatically in those islands due to the tropical climate and a balanced ecosystem.

This Kaiju is specialized in preying local giant mound-building termites which are able to create enormous and complicated structures more than 500 ft high. Obsolom species are used to swim from island to island thanks to their six limbs and hollow tail. There, they find those giant mounds so they can break them and eat the tasty termites.
But climate changes have obliged Obsolom to swim further to find more food, as the termites have lowered their numbers. Lost in the ocean, Obsolom has spotted in the horizon some structures not unlike the termite mounds. And those strange buildings made from steel and concrete may have some delicious food inside…
