Description For more photos of the props/armour I've textured, and to see the shuriken in use, take a look through my Wai-con photos (My sister and I are cosplaying FFVII Yuffie & Tifa and their AC versions). [link]

For tutorials on making the props & armour, I recommend Amethyst Angel's tutorials: [link] She does some amazing stuff!

Ah, brilliant- just found this in time for me starting to construct my next cosplay! X3
D'you think this sort of weathering would work for armor as well? I reckon it should (ignoring the whole tips about sharpening weapon edges and such XD), but have you done anything about constructing armor before?

Well, there were a few other metal pieces on our FFVII costumes that I used this technique for (like Aeris's shoulder bands [link] and Yuffie's big shoulder guard, forehead protector etc [link] ), but I haven't has a chance to try it yet with full scale armour. I imagine it'd work for pretty much any metal surface though.

Ah- I see! That really helps, seeing it on armor pieces Just as well I have all the thinners and paints and brushes from other art projects - I'll have to give it a shot as soon as I've got the armor sorted (luckily not a full suit of armor- I'd kill myself doing that! Just the shoulder/arm guards and skirt plates)
Thanks a lot!

Beautiful design. And the tutorial was very easy to understand and (hopefully) follow. lol When I first saw this, I thought you were making a step-by-step for a Naruto cosplay. My bad. But this is very cool! Now I wanna try some idna cosplay that needs a shurikan!
