Description
EDIT2 (8/7/17): This tutorial might be revised for just PMX Editor only! I will try to get around to it!EDIT: Sometimes it doesn't always work. If it doesn't work the first time, Make sure the X Rotation bones say bone instead of relative when adding the child bone. Another method is retyping in the bone numbers for the X rotation bones parents and child bones. Hit enter so it registers. Thank you to for helping me explain this tutorial a bit better!
Here's another Tutorial That I made from first model problem experience. It took me a week to figure out so what I did to figure this out was to look at my other good working models. Β I hope this helps you.

Is there to a way to limit the Rotation of a bone to only one Certain Direction?Β

I'm not sure what you mean. X Y and Z rotate the bones in a certain way

Is there a way to limit the bones to rotate only on the Z Axis

Hmm there is a button that says rotation in the bone tab

I would think so.

Okay, new issue. I used the SemiStandardBones plugin after deleting the current x-rotation bones. In the past, it worked flawlessly on my model's previous base (which had glitches so the model was remade on another TDA base) which showed x-rotation issues. I tried deleting and reinstalling the bones with SSB again, but this happened. :/ I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

The hidden bones were probably moved. Go down to the hidden bones and press the button that shows them. If the hidden bones were moved away from the arms where the x rotation bones are, move them back near it.

Hidden bones? x.x;
Sorry, I'm like... super new to editing models, much less working with physics and bones... I'm not experienced at all. ;n;

IT's perfectly ok! I was in your place once. They are the gray bones. If you go down to the bottom of the model window, you will see the bones, which are blue dots, then the vertex which are the green particles, the orange particles which is the selected particles, a red triangle, Not really sure about that one and then there should be the hidden bones which is a gray dot. Make sure that bones (B) in the top of the window is selected when you move the bones. When you are finished with moving them, deselect the Bones so you don't mess them up when moving materials around.

I'll try, but I already fucked up my model once before. x.x; I thought it'd be easy enough just deleting the x-rotation bones, then going and using SemiStandardBones to reinstall new ones. But apparently it's still fucked up. I think it might be the stockings (originally boots from a Defoko model, repurposed into stockings)... x.x;

I would say that maybe double check to see if you deleted all the other bones and duplicates of previous SSBs.

It looks like these hidden bones shouldn't be in certain places... There are some floating around my model, others along the arm/leg bones...

Keep the ones by the arms but you can delete the ones by the legs and fingers.

It doesn't matter. Delete the one farthest to the right and the two above the head.

It didn't fix the x-rotation issue, no. I'll try deleting them and reinstalling them again... see if that helps.

Take the X rotation bone of the arm and make the the arm it's parent bone.

They already are. But the wrist twists are parenting to the other x-rotation bones. Is that normal?
π: 0 β©: 1
travelermew In reply to RitaLeader14 [2018-02-12 01:17:34 +0000 UTC]
Then I'm at a loss and I give up. I don't know if it's the regular TDA base, if it's the stupid sweater, or if it's something I'm doing wrong. I'm stressing so much I'm near tears because of this...

I think I have a bit of a problem,
I followed your tutorial, and I understood everything,
but it made it worse?
now his arm moves a LOT out of place instead of just a little?

RitaLeader14 In reply to Rina55 [2017-07-30 13:54:38 +0000 UTC]
Oh. Well maybe replace the X rotation bones with the semi standard bones. Delete the current ones and replace them.

I didn't mean to snap at you!
It's just that I had mis-read where you were commenting from, and I thought you had commented on the post I made of the images of my model being messed up, and I had said in the description what tutorials caused what problems, I'm very sorry!

No it's okay! I thank you for your help, or at least the want to help!
It's the thought that counts!
Plus, maybe I made a mistake following the tutorial,
No harm in trying it again!

Ok I'm glad you decided to try again also you weren't yelling at me. I wasn't upset. To be honest I had no idea what you were talking about. I might revise this tutorial in the future. Using PMX editor instead of the switch kind. I have 2 PMX editors on my computer and I usually use the switch PMD/PMX kind. I'm sorry that it didn't work the first time. I don't exactly guarantee that it will fix the problem. Don't worry.Β

haha yea, when I re-read what post this was, I realized you had no idea,
I'm still very sorry!
no it's okay!
sometimes things work and sometime they don't!
using PMX is pretty much like putting out fires as they keep making more, I fix one problem, but now there's two, haha

RitaLeader14 In reply to Rina55 [2017-08-01 06:00:01 +0000 UTC]
Ah yeah it happens a lot to me too. PMX models are tedious sometimes. I've stopped using PMD models a long time ago, but I realized I made it harder for myself. Oh well. Well it really doesn't matter whether it's a PMX or PMD Model. Glitch fixing is a nightmare once you finally understand the concept of model editing. So many steps and sometimes so little patience.

Yeah no problem!

I have a tutorial to fix the "model in the ground" I call it the "Drag Glitch." It could be why the arms are in the ground. The bones have to be in a certain order.Β MMD PMD/PMX 'Drag Glitch' Tutorial
