Description EDIT2 (8/7/17): This tutorial might be revised for just PMX Editor only! I will try to get around to it!

EDIT: Sometimes it doesn't always work. If it doesn't work the first time, Make sure the X Rotation bones say bone instead of relative when adding the child bone. Another method is retyping in the bone numbers for the X rotation bones parents and child bones. Hit enter so it registers. Thank you to for helping me explain this tutorial a bit better!

Here's another Tutorial That I made from first model problem experience. It took me a week to figure out so what I did to figure this out was to look at my other good working models. Β I hope this helps you.

There should be two boxes under the parent bone that say bone and relative. Make sure "bone" is selected. Not relative. That's what the child bone box is. The Bone box.

Yes it is. I've checked my other PMX Editor. I have Two versions of PMX editors on my computer. I should be using the PMX PMX version and not the PMD/PMX version. So Sorry for the mix up.

Well I am really busy with other things, but I'll still send a screenshot. I have a busy summer ahead of me. Also I don't know what you mean exactly, but what I can say is make sure that you don't have any bones that have the same name.Β

RitaLeader14 In reply to Sinamuna [2017-05-26 02:41:50 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry. I know that my tutorial was hard to follow. You could delete the Existing X rotation bones and replace them with the Semi Standard bones plugin. OR make sure that the X rotation bone's parent bones are the arm and elbow bones. Try retyping in the numbers just in case.

Sinamuna In reply to RitaLeader14 [2017-05-26 02:43:19 +0000 UTC]

I don't understand how to find out what number/bone the rotations are, or the "excess" floating bone points on the arms... ;n; It's really bugging me. I don't know what to do.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RitaLeader14 In reply to Sinamuna [2017-05-26 02:46:06 +0000 UTC]

Well there should be "PAR BONE" which is parent bone. Then there is Display destination which has two bubble options under it. Make sure that the child bone is "bone" not "Relative.

I did exactly as this tutorial says, but It still didn't work! Can I send the model to you or something so you can fix it ;-;

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RitaLeader14 In reply to QueenOfSports [2017-02-22 21:44:43 +0000 UTC]

I don't fix models anymore because people have made me angry in the past so I quit fixing models for people. What I can say is that make sure both eye bones are working before working on the both eyes bone.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

QueenOfSports In reply to RitaLeader14 [2017-02-22 22:06:12 +0000 UTC]

I understand but what do you mean by eye bones? the x rotation bones keep screwing up for me and I'm really frustrated, cause many dances used the bone and it ends up looking gross... :-;

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RitaLeader14 In reply to QueenOfSports [2017-02-22 22:25:00 +0000 UTC]

Oh oops wrong thing well what I meant to say was you can either replace them by deleting them with semi standard bones or retype in the bone number of the arms and elbows.

Thanks for the tutorial!

I have a question,

Where can I find the Child bone in Latest PMXE?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RitaLeader14 In reply to Sharmlove1234 [2017-02-06 11:44:18 +0000 UTC]

It should be near the in the middle of the bone tab and there should be two dot selections. One saying bone and one saying offset/relative. It should be under the parent bone box and has 1 box and then 3 boxes under it. The version I have is 0.2.2.2.

The X rotation bones need to connect to the elbow and wrist. Make sure the child bone is the number of the elbow and the wrist are the child bones of the X rotation bones. It should say bone instead of relative.

excuse me, may i ask you about your x bone, when you rotate it in transform view, it's only rotate on X axis right? (or only back and forth if i didnt say it right). because i noticed that my x bone rotate on all 3 x y z axises. i know that's why it messed up but i really dont know where to fix it. i tried to open the models that worked, but i couldnt find it anywhere.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RitaLeader14 In reply to rexgoldhorn [2016-11-28 04:25:40 +0000 UTC]

Hmm. Well I tested it out on my own models and the reason the bone is called an X rotation bone is because it looks like an X. Not that the bone itself only functions on the X axis. It should move for all 3 axises. The arms should move like they are twisting.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

rexgoldhorn In reply to RitaLeader14 [2016-11-28 05:25:12 +0000 UTC]

i mean, other models arm's move like they are twisting yes, even i rotate x y z axis, it's only twist, not like the one in the tutorial( by this i mean the problem, not your fixed). but i still dont know why those models arm only twisted. but mine did not, althought i honestly dont know what was wrong. the worked ones and my failed ones looks exactly the same. they dont even have the drag glitch or anything. just didnt seem to twist right

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RitaLeader14 In reply to rexgoldhorn [2016-11-28 11:27:10 +0000 UTC]

Hmm.....Do the arms X rotation bones say Bone instead of relative in the bone tab?Β

That's strange, I don't usually press enter when retyping in the bones but I guess I can add a tidbit of information you provided. Thank you.

RitaLeader14 In reply to FoxiLoveble [2016-10-25 22:29:43 +0000 UTC]

It's alright. I respond to every comment. I even say so in my tutorials at the end. I just don't have the software to record on my laptop. I might consider remaking this tutorial for PMX. I assume you're using PMX. Usually what I do is that I find the display destination option under the bones tab usually under the Par bone option and select "bone" rather than Relative. It should help just a bit, if it doesn't, I'm very sorry. My tutorial has a very vague way of explaining since it assumes you know what option to use.
