Description Remember this? [link] Well I recently decided to back to photoshop and experimented a new tecnique with this old pic! Btw, I want to thanks the great for his beautiful tutorial [link] which helped me a lot to make tis pic.

Still, I posted this in the scrap section because it isn't finished: I need to set ip the background. Does someone know a way (or have some kind of tutorial) to make the smoke effect look better and more realistic, please? I'd appreciate it really really much!

Thank you guys!

You posted this so long ago that I'm sure you don't need help anymore, but the key I've found to doing smoke is lots of layers and playing with opacity.

As for the rest of it, wow! So dramatic and powerful

The lighting seems really groovey! I always look through yahoo or google to find things that help me. But that doesn't mean it's the best. Can't wait to see it finish!

Hm... so long.. and I remember

Unfortunately, I canΒ΄t help. I donΒ΄t know everything about coloration.

But I like it.

At that time I have still said: "You have to color this!"
and you did it
I like it so much...

But: I think, I have a problem with DA.. I put your pic to my Favourites .. but: I donΒ΄t find it in my Favourites .. something goes wrong here ...
Is not the first time, where I see this Problem

che ficata! *ups*

If the smoke - as it seems - comes from down right, I'd suggest to make the smoke at the right bottom a little more dense ( as it is nearer to the source of the smoke - maybe the fire). Perhaps showing some smoke in front of him (between him and the viewer) could help, too (if it fits into the scene). Sorry, but I don't know any good techiques that could help you -_-

I love the shading of Arkar!!!! He looks great!

usually when I want to make smoke, I lay down a new layer, put down the darkest color the smoke should be, and the lightest slightly on top. Then I smudge the heck out of it XD

I find a good tip site is [link] . They have some handy info there

I think the muscles on thispic look amazing!

These muscles are amazing, you were able to expressed soft muscles without having to use any lines, but simply shadow. Makes me want to go into PS myself and practice all day with dodge/burn tool. I hope one day I could use those tools as well as you do.
But about your problem, I don't know how to make good looking smoke, but I came across a gargoyle artist, who did something with smoke, that I think you're looking for.
Here's the picture: [link]
Here's her site: [link]
Good luck Ritam, if nothing else, I can send you to some PS tutorial sites, they might have what you're looking for ^_^ Good luck!

hmmmhm ... maybe the technique I use to make perchmant (sp?!) paper helps (I'm afraid ppl are already sick of it ... )
it may need some adjustments, but tutorials imho are only there to help you find your own way to do things anyway

I'll try to type something up for you
might take a while though since I'm in the middle of moving
