Worked a bit more with that Spacegodzilla sketch. It’s amazing how prominent Spacegodzilla is within the Godzilla franchise considering how poorly received its only movie appearance is. Also considering how little it was explained. It’s origins are basically unknown, and more mysterious are what its motivations are supposed to be.
I think Spacegodzilla thinks it’s the real Godzilla, and that normal Earth Godzilla is an imposter that must be destroyed. And it captured Godzilla Junior in order to change it into another Spacegodzilla, possibly a mindless facsimile of itself it can control remotely with telepathy like a drone.
Came up with a new origin as well. Scientific application of Godzilla cells is put on hold when it’s clear that using Godzilla derived genes in transgenic research usually ends up with monsters (like Biollante). The best place to send them where no one can get their hands on them is an international space station, where they’re put on ice.
Crew of the space station investigates a strange thing in space, blah blah blah, they bring it onboard the station, skip ahead a bit, station explodes, skip ahead to an astronaut from the station being miraculously found on Earth trying to break into G-Force headquarters, skip skip skip, they discover shards of crystal embedded in his brain, won’t stop talking about the Godzilla from outer space, yadda yadda yadda Spacegodzilla.
NB: That pale colorless limb? Super cold.
