Description
ROYAI SPAM, HOORAY~
Yes.
Stfu; it’s what I do.
Once again, aspects of this are only going to make sense to Hubby - like Riza’s additional scars - since it was inspired by our RP. D:!
Who’d have guessed?
*That’s a rhetorical question*
I didn’t want to draw Roy’s eye patch this time... Mainly because I’m tired of seeing all the post-episode 51 pictures of Roy with a delicate little scar through his eye. So this is my way of countering all that. |:
He was shot, ppl. Not scratched by a kitten.
Half of his face should be gone.
I’ve seen people this has happened to. And it’s not pretty.
Srsly.
...They always look so grim when I draw them. :c
Oh well.

I love how you balanced the delicacy and the strength. The scars and the beauty. What a wonderful work.

This is amazing. I love to see stuff from people who aren't afraid to show the scars of life. Yea totally makes sense that Roy's FACE would be messed up. It's not like Bradley, and why else would the eyepatch be so frigging huge. It honestly covers a lot more than is necessary for just an eye wound. I always looked at it like he had this god awful scar there....so thank you!

You're very welcome. I'm glad you appreciate the idea of what's hiding behind that "eye" patch in the same way I do. ;3

It's rather obvious...I always thought people got it was more to the side of his face. If the bullet had gone straight into the eye it probably would have hit his brain as well thus killing Roy.

Not sure I know what you mean... It's not really "from" anything, unless you count a role play between my husband and I. XD

Nice, this could be anyone or any character and it'd still have a metaphorical feel. and yeah i know they eye thing lol. makes me wonder how the hell he's even alive... cause even if it streaked the eye it must have hit the temple and doing that he should be dead. they just kinda tacked on that ending im afraid :/

Personally, I always thought that his eye scar always looked more like this, and that's why he had a patch in the anime. Incidentally, his scar reminds me of Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Which seems oddly fitting, in a way.
I can also see a lot of manga influences here, too. And I most certainly approve! I love the little manga touches!
The way their arms are crossed as they show off their respective scars is touching. Perhaps moreso because of the hideousness of those very scars. I like to see it when people don't try to downplay such things, and I agree about that odd trend girls seem to have nowadays.

This is really nice. I was waiting for someone to draw them together with their scars. The interlocking arms was a nice touch too! I like the way you made the scars more realistic and not all small and idealized. And I absolutely love buff manga Roy! He actually looks like a fit army officer and not some skinny bishie boy.

Thank you! :3
I'm glad someone else can appreciate Roy's soldier-build, instead of just reacting with, "Ew, he's fat." XD

I Love this picture, it gives me a sad feeling but also really nice, I don't know how to explain, it's also a kind of peacefull (probably because of the way they are standing and their faces are )
I also like the arms, the connection
And the reason they made the scar at his eye in this way is because a half destroyed face is not so nice to look at in an anime, not sexy (yes I'm fangirl)

Aw, thank you. :3 I'm glad people still enjoy this piece, even though I look back on it and see a lot of things I would have done differently. XD
Personally, I find the larger, more believable scar "sexier", if you will. XD If for no other reason than originality. It shows off the scope of the injury, and anything less just reminds me of Scar from The Lion King. It sort of... looses authenticity. XD
It's sort of the same reason why I've always preferred the fuller, more muscular build they draw Roy with in the manga. It's more accurate than the typical bishie-build of huge shoulders and a skinny little waist that they used in the anime. I dunno why girls these days find skinny men so desirable, but it's deffinately not how a soldier is built- and I'd know, I'm married to one. D: Then again, I'm pretty sure most of those girls have never seen how an adult male is typically built, since they call Roy's muscle in the manga "fat"... which annoys me. >_>
But now I'm just rambling. 8D

I don't really know things about how men are build xd
But I Meant when really half his face was gone, I agree that when you're shot with a gun you don't have a kitty scratch And I think in real life it would look very strange when you have big shoulders and a skinny waist... I didn't really pay attention to his waist, the thing I like the mos about him is his personality, but I now I'm talking to much
