I liked how my sketch for [link] turned out, so I decided to paint it.This is supposed to be just before Christine unmasks Erik the first time.
I know that someone is going to complain about the mask being on top of the organ, and not being on Erik's face, since Christine couldn't unmask him in that situation, but I do have an explanation. It is an extra mask. Erik probably had more than one, so it's an extra. And I thought that it added to the composition of the painting.

Nice composition, interesting use of media (woodboard, neat ^_^ adds texture). I like the organ and the attention to detail, but Christine's hair looks a bit like...I dunno, Jareth's from Labyrinth XD. Too straight. I always picture her with curlier hair, and not really layered. There's some issues with anatomy, but I like the rich colours used. Pretty ambitious of you ^_^.

I'm working on another Leroux-painting right now, and Christine's hair is going to be more curly than it is here. I want to try to make her hair look more 'accurate' as well, for someone in that time period.
