No.2 technical pencil. The blade was added in photoshop.RED 5: Commander Luke Skywalker X-Wing pilot. I imagine somewhere between New Hope and ESB.

Wooo, 3 for 3! Excellent job as always...and I can see the difficulty with doing a saber blade in pencil because it would never come out so "glowing" with eraser smudgees in the mix...
Can't wait for the next one...Han? Leia? A Droid or a bad guy? Have to wait and see!!

If you plan for that space to be clear it's easy enough to do. But I really wanted to draw the whole chest unit. Once it's in your head doing it a second time is cake. Just in case.

I always thought there was a little more of the "fun scoundrel-ness" to Han in Empire, while in Star Wars it was a "Get to know you" sort of thing and in Jedi he got more noble/less cocky because of chucking his lot in with the Rebels (of course, a certain spunky female had a lot to do with it...). So it will be a fine piece, I'm very sure!
