Description
The North American F-86D Sabre was nicknamed the Sabredog both for the letter D and for the pointed black nose that contained the radar array. The Japanese Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) bought 122 Sabredogs and used them as all-weather interceptors. If Communist bombers had tried to attack Japan, the Sabredogs would have shot them down with a barrage of rockets. Sabredog 104 is on display at Hamamatsu Air Park.Related content
