Description
The street level lifts off to access the Fiber Optics that light the Subway underneath. It's a split 2-level transfer subway station, 2 platforms above 2 platforms below so there is a tangle of stairways and pedestrian tunnels that all have to be lit. Fiber optics was the best solution to navigate the extremely tight places in such a small scale. The flashlight has alot of 'spill' light so the box that houses it had to be pretty tight to not have light cracks all over the place and ruin the effect. The flashlight is LED so there is no heat and no electric fans to cool an otherwise super hot LED light system.
