Description
This is a wood 1:12 dollhouse scale nearly 7 foot tall model of the Daily Planet from Superman. The client is an avid comic book / super hero & Lego collector and wanted a Daily Planet as a backdrop for part of his collection. I had full design freedom so I went for the movie "Metropolis" mechanized industrial Art Deco time period but still have a fantasy comic book feel. The windows are smoke tint acrylic, the small round balls along the top are pingpong balls with small lights inside to glow. Overall everything else is wood pine and luan. Originally built to wrap around an interior corner of a room to imply a much larger building and seen from either direction and puts the tower out on the corner. Here in this photo is just the main entry side with the collectable Superman display in front.
