Sorry, about the late response. Weird as it sounds, I missed your comment when I was going through my list. To answer your question, this is a clouded leopard. Leopards (as far as I know) don't have those stripes around their head and neck. Thanks for the comment.

Oh he looks so hot! No not sexy... Its just his drooping ears and the panting. I do like the shot with his nice muscular front leg in it. The out-of-focus tree-thing kind of takes away from it, but I don't think that such a thing can be helped. All in all, nice shot!

I think that tongue gives this photo all its personality.

Well thank you for the compliment. Glad I could bring a smile to your face. And hopefully I still have a few more coming to you with the rest of the pictures I'll be uploading for the next couple days.

Ah, but you see, this is actually my picture of a tree trunk with a clouded leopard in the background, so all is well.
Truth be told though, there always seems to be a "that thing" in my pictures. Sometimes it's more noticeable than others though... I almost didn't upload this picture because of that tree in the corner. I have another similar picture to upload in which you can recognize the tree slightly better (but the picture still has the same overall problem). I just try to avert my eyes from it whenever I look at this picture.

have you tried talking to the zoo owners about getting a special shoot? they might charge you money but the shots you can come up with should be even better than your already awsome shots
I personally have a shoot that i will be doing in a few weeks of a lion and a few tigers, and there will be no cages, moats, leashes or anything between them and me, just them freely wondering, and me right in there with them
try seeing if you can make that connection with somebody, and then use it to your advantage

That would be pretty cool. Unfortunately, I'm moving off to college in about a week and a half, so it's probably out of the question for a while, at least at this zoo. Maybe when I come back for the winter break I can check into that. Good luck on your shoot. I hope you come back with some great pictures.

See if you can get the keepers to get the lion to open its mouth. Then take a picture of its back teeth. After that tell everyone that it almost ate you, and you just got the picture and ducked away before it got to you. It wouldn't be true, but you could at least say you almost died taking the picture.
