Description
Costa Rica was swimming in humminbirds. And they all look the same to me. ;_; This is a Rufous-tailed Hummingbird, one of the few easily identified species. I really thought they were cool until I saw them working the same flowers as other species of hummingbird. Now I realize they're just big bullies.Related content

"Big" bullies, you mean? :V
Anyway, still very cute For whatever reason, I really like the super soft-focus lime-green background. Really sets him off.

Wow, late reply. Comparatively speaking, these guys are the big kid on the block. The other hummingbird species I saw them with were about half their size, and they were absolute jerkwads to those other species whenever they crossed paths.
Glad you like the shot.

Heh, yeah, I believe it. I remember rescuing a baby hummingbird when I was in my teens - in retrospect, it may very well have been an adult, just seemed too small in my mind to be an adult at the time :b
