A sad blockbuster year that was.
The curse of the trilogies, all 3 films were severely less engaging than the 1st two.

very true. I was disappointed in all of them....Spiderman the most. I thought it sucked. It fell to the Joel Shumacher Batman curse, stuffing a ton of bad guys that could have easily stood alone in their own films.

I remember when those 3 movies came out I thought, "Those three in the same year?!?!? Something's 'bout to go down!" And you've exactly pictured how I thought it was going to go down!! Great job!!

Yeah, I know...POTC3 was just too freaky for me, Spiderman 3 was too goth, and Shrek the Third was just plain stupid... *sighs and dies slowly on inside*

it was kind of freaky, it seemed like it moved away from the franchise and got a bit trippy.

I loved Davy!! That was the only movie I liked out of those three flicks...the rest were pretty bad.

yehyehyehyeh shrek was ok. haven't seen spidey 3 though, but davy is just gaaaah! I like his eyes^^ and and his tentacles are actually quite amusing XD

Yeah, the first Pirates was definately the best and I still go back and forth on what I thought of Spidey three. At least neither of them were as bad of X-men 3.

yeah, that was bad! When I saw it in the theater there were things I liked, but the more I thought of it, the less I liked it. It was funny seeing Kelsey Grammar in that rubbery suit being thrown around on cables like he was really jumping, not very believable! At best he should have been the voice of the Beast.
The thing that bugged me about Spidey3 was that they were jamming too possibly great movies into one 2 hour long movie. they could have made a kick ass movie on Sandman alone...as well as a great Venom/symbiote-focused film by itself. I thought both of them were great as movie characters...but they were trying to do too much. Having Venom die after one major battle...HUH?

good point!!! For this one I was jsut sticking to movies that were in a third sequel. that summer everything was a "Part 3". Which was kind of strange.
Plus i would have loved to put Megatron's big foot in there, but there was no room...HA!

I actually found Pirates worse because the first one was so good; expectations were higher. At least it was better than "Dead Man's Chest".

yeah, the first was the best! although i loved the effects and creatures, it seemed to get off on a different path than expected. I am a huge fan of the old Disney ride.

Yeah, that ride is classic...I don't think they should have changed it to have a waterfall projection of Davy Jones and Jack Sparrow + a cheap plot...that probably added to my dislike of the franchise.

THEY DID THAT???? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....IS IT A FILM PROJECTION OF THEM? It jsut does not fit the feel of the ride....WHY?
I they wanted to inlcude the modern pirates, just do a NEW separate ride called "THE ADVENTURES OF JACK SPARROW" or something...
