Perhaps the Reeve accidently popped through a wormhole "bypass" that opened for a moment. A crewmate sipping coffee looks away from the consule for a second, feels a slight tremor, then looks up and "oops!" not in Kansas any more! I really like her design, and why is she dubbed the Reeve?

Ah ha! Of course! I kept thinking of astronauts, astronomers, scientists, etc. for the name Reeve. Naming her after Christopher Reeve is so appropriate.
