Incredible setting, and I am still blinking from the stars. I am just guessing here, but it looks like a catastrophic deflector shield failure, or Kirk was in command, and his view was obscured by the yoeman sitting on his lap! Sorry! Even though I love them, I still can not forgive Canada for inflicting that blowhard on us. Drell-7's downward pylon architecture on the Darwin is imaginative, and I like the nod to the original globular end caps of the warp nacelles. Great work as always.

Thanks! The original Darwin/Ranger design was from one of the FASA designers, back in the early eighties. We just updated the fine details.

I wish I could point to one source, but not on this one. It's a combination of 2-3 starfield images, with some of my own Photoshopery thrown in for good measure

'brilliant angle as usual...and the palette reminds you "..it is very, very cold in space.."
* ANY * chance of the 'Ranger-Class' being released 'into the wild' as an .obj...when you're tired of her of course....

A public release IS the plan... when Tom gets more time. He's bogged down on a couple of projects at the moment, but we'd like to get the shuttle bay interior in there before sending her out for public consumption.

Another nice scene! It took me a while to realize that the vessels were in a "top to top" orientation. It didn't sink in until I realized I was seeing the top of the transport's warp nacelles >_<

I like the orientation of the ships, 'top' to 'top' - you always explore the POVs .

A Very Big and most definite "Thank you". I have a story- after the one I'm working on now- where I need an asteroid field. I have some 3D asteroids, but the pngs and the photoshop packs will be a big help.

Another amazing scene, and another amazing angle to view the Ranger class. The shuttlecraft is a great touch as well; it took a few extra moments of studying the image before I noticed it.
Well done!

Seeing this reminds me of that scene in the early part of ST TNG movie where the ship had a hull breach while trying to rescue ships crews and passengers from a rift. Captain Kirk was sucked out of the room into space but force fields closed the room again. When his friends enter the room with an "OMG!" and they see the entire opposite half of the space is just - open to the universe.
