UPDATE: Hey all check the date I posted this, about a full year before Miles was created. I actually pitched this idea to Kevin Grevioux when he was writing for Marvel but sadly he didn't think they would ever go for it. Just came out of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse and it was everything I had envisioned nearly 10 yrs ago. It was just an idea whose time had come. Bravo.However, I will be reposting this every #spidermanday just cause

Hey all I put together a new podcast where venture into character/costume design, starting off with Spider-man. A total revamp using Donald Glover as a casting choice for Peter Parker. Be sure to have a listen here...

wow! the costume is great. I know a lot of artist tried to make some changes to his costume but it never seems to quite work. but I really could see this as a new costume. great work man.

Y'know, I didn't know who Donald Glover was when the whole 'open letter' was released a while back (didn't get a chance to even fantasize about it before Garfield was cast), but seeing the picture here and your depiction of him, yeah, he looks like he could A) make a convincing nerdy Parker but B) could be beefed up and battle super-villains.
And I LOVE the costume redesign! Especially love the inverted colors to create the different logos for the front and back. Brilliant!

This is where I wished both Marvel (and even DC) had a little more initiative and instead of giving us the millionth variation of the standard Spider-Man trope ('regular' Peter, Ultimate, Marvel Adventures, etc...) someone would do this.
Change the skin color and really try to avoid rehashing the same thing and just have fun with the concept. He's still be Peter Parker, but just by virtue of not being white, you can do different types of stories (as it would be nice to have a different universe where Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane aren't his preordained love interests).
Ah well, nice to dream!

I love Danny glover and this just caught my eye. I absolutely adore it and love the likeness in the character design, Danny can do a good job as peter and spiderman and this conveyed it perfectly

Totally agree, I'll be taking these are forward of the initial concept too, following the progress with the podcast, sort of like an audio tutorial. But yeah, REALLY wish he had been cast.

Yeah, I viewed your other pieces too, and I really like the choices in character, their faces alone are able to convey the right disposition and character needed to be the same heroes and villains known, while being a completely new incarnation.
And the costumes are pretty wicked.
