Description
Here's the third in my trilogy of pictures combining iconic characters from the Star Wars and Star Trek universes to mark the announcement that J.J. Abrams will direct the next Star Wars movie. And they don't get much more iconic than Darth Vader and Mr Spock!J.J. Abrams is living out every fanboy's dream right now - so I was wondering whether he's thinking to himself... "I really like Star Trek, and I really like Star Wars too. But which one is better? There's only one way to find out... FIGHT!"

***Updated with an alternative version that leaves out the text from the originally posted version which read "JJ Loves Me Most!". Also removed some filters that made the original image look over-saturated. If anyone notices the difference - let me know which version you prefer!***

I've actually heard that J.J. isn't that big a fan of Star Trek.
Man, first there were a ton of Star Wars/Disney crossovers, and now there are a bunch of Star Wars/Star Trek crossovers. Wonder how many more crossovers there will be before Episode 7 comes out.

You're right about him not being a big fan. He said he decided to direct Star Trek because he wasn't familiar with it enough to worry about screwing it up. He almost turned down working on Star Wars because he's a HUGE fan and is scared of messing it up.

Actually, if he screws up Star Wars, then I think a few of us will be tempted to travel to Saturn, turn Mimas into the Death Star and then blow up his house from orbit. So perhaps the worry he feels isn't totally worthless.

I suppose it depends on what it was about the old Trek that he's supposed not to like? I can't imagine he'd fault the concept, the setting or the characters - otherwise why would he get involved. But I could understand it 'if' he didn't like the lack of budget or the special effects or something like that?

Thanks very much. This one's a bit different from the norm - because I don't usually draw the characters up close - but maybe I should do more like this in future because it means you can see some of the detail better?
