John truly knows the important question. And the actual answer, was one of the strongest affirmation of what she thought of Nick...

This is a very interesting scenario.Β

To meet his father, and then have this kind of conversation? I can see why Judy would be nervous.

John seems like a really nice guy, and he knows Nick better than most I've seen for anyone.

He also brings up a good point and I LOVE her response to it: She didn't have a choice.

*claps*

Fair points from both sides.

Nick looks little bit weird in the 4th panel, is this done in purpose? Or is the angle just screwing with my mind?

An interesting omission from what Nick has told his dad. He will boast about Judy's good deeds but not his own. The happy bun in the last panel was nice, showing her pride and contentment in having a loyal friend like Nick.

Your use of color for certain purposes is always interesting. For example, the flashback with the violet hue to represent her telling the story.

Yes, Nick was the first mammal in Zootopia that showed her that he believed in her and she had betrayed that trust so she owed it to him to make amends with him first. In hindsight it was exceedingly fortunate that Judy didn't go to Bogo, Bellwether or a Zootopia medical center with her knowledge about the Night Howlers because if she did then Bellwether would probably have become aware of it and might have had enough time to react to ensure Doug was not discovered and the connection to her remained hidden. Despite Bogo now having more faith in Judy's abilities I believe she wanted to have proof, not just a theory, before taking anything to him. Duke Weaselton had been caught stealing Night Howler bulbs and a reasonable guess would be that it was for whoever was making the predators go savage. To confirm this she needed to find Duke and the best mammal to help her do that, outside of the ZPD, was Nick. (It was almost as if someone had scripted it all out so it would all work out for the best. )

Thank you I'm glad you like it!

Also, damn you are good at picking up small details. I was sure nobody will catch on that "colorcoded flashback" at least till the next page with some flashback from John!

It was furtunete indeed, but still if we think about it, it wasn't the professional thing to do.
Bogo and the police obviously would've had some info on Weaselton, and for the sake of the city it should've been the safest thing to inform at least a few about the secret of the flower instead of risking it dying with her.
It wasn't the right decision as a cop, but it was the right one to do as a friend of Nick. Probably that's why John asked that from Judy. He probably expected some cold analytical answer like, Judy suspected an inside job, and she just told him "nope, I just wanted my friend back more than anything else"

too off.

but nick is not the first to support her. im sure of that at least.

Major Friedkin: "Go home country bunny" Judy had to fight hard to earn her respect and let her pass the academy
Clawhauser: "Aww, she is going the get eaten aive" speaks for it self
Bogo: Doesn't care that she was the best of her class and send her off to parking duty.
Her parents: Openly happy that she is just a metermaid "Oh thank god she is not a real cop"
Bellwether: Just "supports" her for political proof of the "mammal inclusion initive" (dumb luck she was there)

Overall, other characters may not have been openly against her, but they did not help her either. Nick was the first one that activly did something to support her other than words of encouragement. Not to mention it was selfless because Nick had nothing to gain from helping her.

Yeah, that's true - at start Nick did tried his best to pressure her down. But he got his tongue tied when Judy found him on next day using his tax evasion, ergo forced him to help her out. Next part, all he did was stalling her from reach the goal that quickly. He started out by embarrassing her when he took her to Mystic Spring Oasis. He enjoyed watching her wrapping her head with her arms each time they passed the nude animal/animals. Judy had no authority to run the plate, so she took Nick to DMV (Department of Mammal Vehicles) to get the I.D.. It took them to nighttime before they could leave due to sloth's pace. Then led her to Tundratown, where the car was blocked by the fence that required warrant.

Judy however had a different idea, forced Nick to go fetch the carrot pen she threw over the fence. With him trespassing the ground, they had to search the park lot and found the limo where Mr. Otterton last saw in. They got caught by Mr. Big's guards (polar bears) before they were bringing to Mr. Big himself. After some discuss with his daughter, Mr. Big let them go, pointed them to Rainforest where Manchas was last attending. After they escaped the death, Chief Bogo was about to fire her when Nick realized how much important the career was to Judy.

That's allot of hauling blocks in Judy's way that were making by Nick. If you TLR, then lemme summary that...

* Judy and Nick met when Judy discovered that Nick scummed her for money on elephant-sized treat.
* Next day, Judy abandoned her metermaid job to stop Duke Weaselton.
* After Judy receivedΒ the "Missing mammals" case with helps of Mrs. Otterton and Dawn Bellwether, she learned that Nick was involved before she went to find him.
* Judy scummed Nick using her Carrot Recording Pen while detailed out his Tax Evasion.
* Nick took Judy to Mystic Spring Oasis, embarrassed her furthermore, while she got the bumper license number (from Yak).
* Judy and Nick attended Department of Mammal Vehicles to run a plate, where they learned that it was in Tundratown.
* Mr. Big's guards caught them and was about to ice'd them, his daughter stopped him, then he sent them to Rainforest District, where Manchas was last heard.
* After they escaped the death, Chief Bogo nearly fired Judy for "wasting their times" - Nick jumped in to defend Judy, said that they had 10 more hours to go, that's when Nick's heart changed. Onward, Nick actively helped Judy out by took an advantage on Dawn's authority of camera to locate the vehicle. And so on.

so it did happen in the movie.

thank you for you input, i now have lost an argument that i didn't stated yet.

wich was Bogo would have not lisenend to a "criminal scum" (i guess he didn't know but my point still stands, we're talking about a bull here).

but with your input, no mather if he would have lisened to nick or not, because nick was using his own words.
