Description
No, that's not Monkey D. Luffy in a Halloween costume! It's Luke O'Brian, AKA Offspring!!Luke O'Brian is the son of the famous JLA superhero, Eel O'Brian, AKA Plastic Man. Luke, who looked up to his father throughout his life, realized that he inherited his father's rubbery and elastic powers, but at first used them to get into a gang. As Eel was a former criminal himself, Plastic Man asked Nightwing and Robin to help talk the kid out of the gang. Seeing Robin take on the gang members in a turf war with a rival group, and having a man-to-man talk with both Nightwing and his father made Luke realize the type of hero he could be. So, Luke gave up a life of crime and decided to redeem himself like his father did by using his powers for good, thus becoming Offspring, one of the Teen Titans!!
For Luke's costume, I was mainly going with the one he wore in Kingdom Come, minus the cowl, because I didn't want his face to be sweating for his entire body. The hairstyle was what I saw from a panel of the Injustice Comic when Plastic Man went to free his son from the same prison that Kilowog and the Green Lantern Corps were held in along with villains like Killer Croc, and the very one where Metamorpho was the warden. He's the best buddy of Kid Flash (Bart Allen), mainly because they try to lighten the mood of any situation. Like with Kid Flash, Impulse and Jesse Quick, Offspring is Flash's mentee, mainly because Wally is on the Justice League and thinks that keeping an eye on Luke would be a good thing for the boy, since he and Plastic Man are on the JLA, so Wally can report in to Eel on how his little boy's doing.
Disclaimer: Offspring belongs to DC Comics, Mark Waid and the legendary Alex Ross.

Heh, well he is Plastic Man’s son after all, so that’s where his power comes from. I just tried to draw him in a cool pose. This was what I came up with.

I have to admit the hair and even the pupils are a better look for him than the cowl and the no pupils.

Thanks! I’m not a fan of the pupil-less eyes look for masks. So I decided to take some inspiration from one scene from Batman: Gotham Knight where Batman’s eyes were visible from the Batsuit.

And it's funny how that cowl does make him look older than he already is, even older than his dad.

I know, right? That might’ve worked for Kingdom Come, but not when he’s a Teen Titan. Hence the open topped cowl.

I can see the story also being in tune with the idea of Plastic Man not being there at first, ironically being a superhero. Maybe Luke's mom doesn't tell him about his father out of hatred or fear. Hatred because of how the man abandoned her, or fear that he'll just leave her like he did. So instead of going to Nightwing and/or Robin Plastic Man would have to step up on his own. Confront Luke about what his doing, show the parallels between how he himself never had a father figure which led to his life of crime, and how its repeating with Luke. It can make a more dynamic moment to me, especially if Luke resents him for being gone and starts fighting him. Plastic Man having to defend himself, not strike or hurt Luke, and basically get him to stop and listen.
Really if he should bond with anyone it should be his dad. Plus it can start a chain reaction of his father coming back into his life, Plas falls for Luke's mom again. This snowball effect of things finally feeling like they're going Luke's way for a change. Thus I think you can with him being very anti-authority, middle finger up for all brooding type. Then it would transition into more happy go lucky, joking, just clear he feels like all the weight of the world is off his shoulders. Plus he could start not being a fan of the elastic powers, but spending time with his dad sees the fun in them which would also cheer up his mood.
Really though that's all me, I'll admit this brought me to your page and I feel like you've got potential in designs and concepts. Keep up the good work, I'll certainly keep an eye on you.

Actually, in the comics, Batman was asked to scare Luke out of being in a gang. I was following that direction because I wanted him to become a Teen Titan, since it would be a way for him to redeem himself. Nightwing understands what it's like being a superhero and a father, and like in Batman Brave and the Bold, it was Batman's fault that Eel became Plastic Man in the first place
Anyway, thanks for the suggestion, but I think that Luke would be more of a funnier character, especially since he hangs out with Kid Flash and Flash, even Beast Boy helps him with his shape shifting powers.

Yes...... I'm not the only person who disliked that cowl he wore in the comics. The face mask looks so much better (he actually looks like a teenager here, cause that cowl always made him look like he was in his 30's).
Given that your version of Luke started off in a gang, and was a thief, I get the feeling that he isn't proud of his past, and doesn't like to talk about it out loud around the others. If that's true, then there might be one person he wouldn't mind opening up to (mainly because he wouldn't need to talk to her in order to communicate with her). That person would be Lilith Clay. Since Lilith has telepathy, she and Luke could talk through their minds about things that Luke probably wouldn't want the other to know (at least, know right away). I'm sure it would bring them much closer together. That's my Headcannon at least.
Another excellent piece. Looking forward to Sonia and Grant.

Heh, thanks!! I figured that if he did wear that cowl, not only would it make him look like he's in his 30s, but like I said in the description, his face would be sweating for his entire body. It may be enough for normal conditions on the East Coast, but in Southern California during the summer...I need not explain the rest.
I went for the thing with Luke starting off in a gang and a thief, because that's how he started in the comics, and Plastic Man asked Batman to scare him in being out of the gang, but I figured that was a little too harsh, and again, Nightwing knows what it's like for any teenager with superpowers, since he's the father of one of them (Nightstar). Though I'm also thinking of going with Grant having a criminal record that'd be cleared up by attending Titans Academy. Also, the whole bonding between Offspring and Omen could work out. Though he might be able to do the same with M'gann, given that my take on her is the neice of J'onn J'onzz, like in the Young Justice Cartoon, so that'd also give him somebody to talk to since M'gann could understand what it'd be like for Luke, given that she's a White Martian and her kind is hated on Mars for their bad rep.

Actually, Luke and M'gann might work out even better. I'll admit, I actually kind of see Lilith as being like Courtney Mason, as in she's ok being single. Also, after a while, M'gann would realize that although Conner likes her, he's truly in love with Cassie, so M'gann and Luke could work out as a couple. She could even show Luke her true Martian form (I feel that her true form is more like that of the comics, rather then the cartoon version, since the comic version just looked so much better). Luke could even come to like kissing her when she's in her true form more than when she's in her disguised human form.

Heh, well I'm all for those two getting together! After all, M'gann could definitely show Luke her true form, but she definitely prefers her Green Martian form better, mainly because she got used to having long hair. Plus they'd be able to spend time with Blue Beetle and Prysm as well as Robin and Nightstar. Also the revealing outfit I gave M'gann was a tribute to Martian Manhunter. Plus Luke could help M'gann fit in with adapting to life on Earth.

They would definitely make a very heartwarming couple. Also, Luke liking her true form could help M'gann get over the shame she has about being a White Martian. As a side note, given that M'gann likes wearing a skimpy outfit, she could be a closet nudist, like Maxine. She probably wouldn't be as shy about it as Maxine, since she can hide the parts of her body she doesn't want to show off with her shapeshifting.

Well I think I can go with that. Plus it'll be nice for Prysm since she won't be the only alien Titan girl who has to go around naked all the time. Also, Mar'i, Tim, Jaime and Luke can teach the two how to swim like Dick taught Star how to swim when they were teens. Plus I'm sure once M'gann starts feeling less shameful about her true form, she could show some aspects in her Green Martian form like fangs, claws and a tail.

She could definitely start showing more Martian aspects of herself (fangs, claws, and her tail), while still keeping her humanoid form. Since you said that it would be nice for Audrey to know she's not the only alien girl who's going around naked, M'gann could eventually ditch the outfit she wears, and like Audrey (and Kiran), start going around actually naked (of course like I said before, she'd use her shapeshifting to make herself look appropriate). As a side note, M'gann not really being embarrassed about nudity could stem from Martian society. My headcannon is that because Martians have shapeshifting, they just don't wear clothes, and for them, nudity just isn't taboo (that could be the reason why M'gann is ok wearing that strap outfit you gave her).

Well in the comics, Martians did go around naked on their home planet. Only on Earth did they wear clothes. I'd still feel that M'gann would want to keep her costume on as a homage to her uncle, but yeah, when Luke comes over to her room, she'd probably go aux naturelle for him. That is of course once they're alone and a couple. There'd be some instances where she'd even do that when Audrey comes over, and in fact when she was brought to Titans Tower, she was indeed butt naked. Robin and Nightstar had to even hold Blue Beetle back since he was getting turned on by that. Of course, M'gann is also a lot like Raven and Beast Boy combined but with the personality of Nightstar and Starfire.

She could still wear her outfit.
My headcannon was that being with Luke for a while would get M'gann to find more confidence in herself. As for the reason why I felt she would stop wearing the outfit, it's because she would want to start being true to herself more so then before. She wore that outfit because her uncle was her idol, but the outfit didn't really reflect who she truly was. When Luke shows that he absolutely loves that she's a White Martian, I felt that M'gann would start letting go of her self doubts, and would want to show people who she truly is, instead of pretending to be someone she's not. That could be why she would stop wearing the outfit, and start showing the more Martian aspects of herself.

Yeah, that's my idea. I just didn't like the outfit that Geoff Johns gave her. I figured that she'd wanna follow her uncle's trend, plus nudity isn't a big issue on Mars.
I'm definitely gonna have her start showing her tail, claws and fangs once she starts dating Luke. Though I'm thinking that she'd only be nude only for when she's swimming, or when she's alone with Luke, Audrey and Kiran. Though I'm pretty sure she wouldn't wanna reveal her White Martian form for all her other classmates, since White Martians have such a bad rep on Earth as well. Besides, I'm thinking that some of the other Titans, like Maxine, could even find M'gann's White Martian form as a bit scary, since the White Martians are pretty scary looking. So that'd be another reason she prefers to stay in her Green Martian form.

Oh yes, she wouldn't reveal her true form to everybody, but definitely to Luke. As for her outfit, she could continue wearing it, but I do feel as though she would stop after a few years. M'gann could eventually realize that she doesn't have to yoke herself to another person's legacy, and after being friends with Audrey and Kiran for a while, she could build up the confidence to let go of the uniform (since she'd eventually desire to create her own legacy, instead of living in her uncle's).

Yeah, still on Earth, it'd be still impolite for her to show her naked body off like that. Again, trying not to be too pornographic. Besides, I think that Mar'i would think that M'gann's costume would look cute on her. Plus, whereas Luke would have most of his body in his costume, M'gann would be like the opposite. Anyway, I'm gonna go ahead and start getting to work on Damage, and then maybe I'll do Bushido after I do Judomaster. Thanks for the help, as always!!

That's true. She could alter her outfit later on. Her nudism could remain a private thing between her close friends.
As for who you could do after Sonia, I'd suggest doing Grace Choi. You've talked about doing a pic of her for a while now, so it would be good to finish it.
