The TIE/pd Sat (TIE Pod Satellite) is a satellite ship version of the TIE/esc Pod (TIE Escape Pod), thought up by engineers who were tasked to create the ultimate satellite to spy on enemies, as well as to carry out assassination missions to dangerous and impossible for TIE Spys and Miniature Arakyd Viper Probots. Inspired by the Death Mark Laser of the Old Republic (to end the Alderaan Civil War of Legends), that was seized by the reconstituted Sith Empire (in 3641 BBY) of Lord Nefarid and Darth Angral (all of which is Legends material), the Pure Galactic Empire wanted this new invention of theirs to have a weapon, small and successful enough to do a job that would not leave any collateral damage to pin on the imperials. Introduced in 53 ABY, the first prototype TIE/pd Sat rolled off production and a willing volunteer, was tasked to carry out a series of tests that involved collection of data, as well as assassination of selected prisoners in Pure Galactic Imperial prison bases. Unfortunately, the laser took too long to charge up although the prisoner was killed successfully, and during a data mining and collection mission the prototype uploaded a virus by accident that caused it to malfunction, and plummet to the planet of Xagobah where it crashed and smashed into pieces, killing the volunteer immediately. After ten more failed prototypes over the course of one month of the same year, the foolproof final product came off the production line free of any flaws, where it successfully completed a bunch of simple trivial missions. Each imperial ship would deploy about 15 TIE/pd Sats to go to various areas of the galaxy alone, to carry out appointed missions for the Pure Galactic Empire, before returning to get one with the next missions. Two large satellite dishes were the main source of data downloading and uploading for the TIE/pd Sat, that would then transfer the data to any imperial ship over long range distances, whilst a third but small satellite dish at the back of the ship was for long range communication with any imperial ship. When in range, such as in a faraway orbit of a planet or ship, the TIE Pilot would use the TIE/pd Sat laser canon to take out the selected target, as the laser took only a microsecond to charge up and another microsecond to fire. After the mission (of intel or assassination) is done, then the TIE/pd Sat would get out of the area quickly before being spotted, a trait that was inherited from the TIE Spy as well as from the Miniature Probot. The success rate of the missions ranged from 35%-56%, with the successful return of the TIE/pd Sats ranging from 45%-67%, making this ship the greatest source for the Pure Galactic Empire to use against selected enemies. The laser was so strong that it could successfully penetrate the strongest hulls and shields around, and at such a long range from a single TIE/pd Sat that could be located as far out from a planetary system's far orbit, then the laser was the best weapon invention that was unrivaled by all. If the TIE/pd Sat was spotted and engaged, then it could withstand a good deal of attacks with its shields, whilst fast enough to get into position and hyperdrive itself out of danger, in a similar manner to the TIE Spy (either with and/or without a Miniature Viper Probot). The TIE/pd Sat continued to be in service well into 400+ ABY, when one TIE/pd Sat successfully assassinated a clone of Darth Vader (not the clone that was created on Dantooine by accident in Legends, that had a laser pointer gadget, and was killed by the real Darth Vader who had from that point on, developed a hatred of clones and cloning) that had been created by Sith Acolytes (similar to the Darth Maul clone of Legends created by Sith Acolytes, that was successfully killed by the real Darth Vader in 0 BBY in the year of the events of Episode IV), but had no essence (or anything else) of Anakin Skywalker inside to control the unstable clone, that went on a killing rampage on the planet Cato Neimoidia (with the Sith Acolytes being the first victims). There is still yet to be some more info, but the imperial archives are slow at updating so expect updates, but in the far future in about ten years or so (but only in the Star Wars Legends and/or Infinities universes ).

Imperial information ends here.

So, what did you think?

I wanted to include the Death Mark Laser of Legends, since it sounded like the perfect weapon an assassin would use in real life, as well as the Star Wars Universe.

Even this bare bones TIE is not to be underestimated, just all types of sniper in the Star Wars Universe.

Also, the 'Big Brother of the Galactic Empire is Watching you!', which is why any Imperial Faction can spy on you at any time.
