"Innocence" by RoboticMasterMind is very cute and, as its name implies, has an innocent quality to it. Xon's interest in nature, something that Irken kind does not see or study very often, is a very ironic aspect. This makes the picture all the more intriguing.
What I find is the best aspect of the picture over all others is the anatomy of both Xon and the large red wetlands bird. I see no flaws in the anatomies of either; they are proportionate. The bird especially is well done; its feathers, face and coloring make it a very realistic creature.
The far background, with the rolling hills and gentle green slopes, is slightly blurred to seem as if it is far in the distance. This was a very good move, as it does seem like a wide open field.
I understand that RoboticMasterMind does not create pictures with nature very often; most of their picture have to do with technology, indoor areas or cities. Despite this, their attempt to create this scene in nature was not in vain, though there are some aspects of this can can use some touch-ups.
For example, water is constantly in motion with ripples and such. The shadow underneath the bird seems to sit still as the water underneath ripples and moves with waves. What I would recommend doing is allowing the shadow to move along with the water; making the shadow bend and twist slightly with the ripples will let it move in unison and add a realistic touch.
Trees are also not as smooth as water, either. They have leaves that sway and fall off depending on the time of year, and they are not very even and symmetrical. The green of the trees does not make a smooth curve; rather, it has leaves going this way and that. Adding individual leaves takes a painstakingly long time, but in the end, it makes a realistic and beautiful effect on the landscape. If trees are in the far scenery, this step is not necessary, but making the tree more jagged and uneven can substitute for this.
Overall, I can see that nature is not necessarily the forte, but one important thing to remember that nature is not that smooth like machinery. It is in motion and asymmetrical.

Thanks for the critique. But one thing that is a big no is adding individual leaves, and drawing them. That I was taught in art school is so very much to avoid. Painting the leaves quickly and slowly adding details to it is the proper way to create the realistic and necessary effect. But I wanted to make the trees more cartoony looking so I didn't do that. Overall thanks for the critique and I'll try to make thinks seem not as stiff looking

Either way, the background, the shading, the look on their faces (lulz), all look amazing. Your talents just keep improving.

the coloring reminds me of something you'd see in a child's story book, though the water looks more like that plastic used in a child's kitty pool, especially around the ripples.

Just practice and observe man, Trust me practice may seem a pain in the ass but once you just do it and love it, you will feel it's effect no end, also observing will help you learn also.
