Description
It was all very well for Tybalt that he had not been called upon to initiate the Wanted’s ‘secret’ mission. He was allowed to wander, awaiting his benefactor’s call, doing whatever he pleased as long as he didn’t get caught. But being who he is, a bundle of insatiable pride and an ego larger than the earth, he was caught quite often.Luckily for him, or unlucky in his own opinion, he had a few people that considered him worth the effort of busting free. Yes, he has acquired many debts from other Wanted breaking him loose from his agony of sitting in a cell twiddling him thumbs. Of course, he didn’t see them as debts. He saw them as his fellows doing what was necessary for their fellows.
“So,” he said coldly, as once again he was leaving Dezzaviit after a particularly tedious imprisonment. “Who put it into your head to that I needed your help?”
His savior this time was none other than Wire Lessrouter, a glitchy creation by some who would say was a mad scientist. The Porygon-Z twisted his head back to better see the temperamental Togepi, who involuntarily grimaced at the unnatural movement. “Sitting behind bars is your idea of fun, then? Yes, yes I’ll-” His face spazzed, leaving the sentence unfinished. “Just say thank you, Tybby,” he finished, his voice returning to normal.
Tybalt scoffed because of course being called Tybby wasn’t one of his favorite pastimes. “Tybalt, Wire, and I can handle my own escapes,” he said, checking his rapier was at his belt and stalked past Wire into the jungles of Baxash. Neither mentioned that going through the Dark Woods would be a much shorter way to get to their destination, because both had their own reasons for avoided the mages.
Wire followed after the very clean and fashionable person. “I’m getting bored Tybs, you have no idea. When will this oh-so-grand Wanted attack begin, hmm?” His blue and pink colored nails tapped impatiently on his thigh as Tybalt refrained from replying to his very relevant question.
The way Wire spoke hit Tybalt right in the spot that was most annoying. He didn’t like how much it always changed up, he didn’t like how high it got, then how low and menacing. He knew this was because Wire himself was hard to predict. He wasn’t sure if Wire’s attention to him was genuine, or if it was all a game to him. I figured the latter because that is exactly the sort of thing he’d. Wire was one of the few people who haven’t bailed on his, more like her, plan and he needed to make sure he tread carefully less he loose another ally. And that fact infuriated him beyond belief.
“Tybs, it’s not polite to ignore people,” Wire continued. Tybalt looked back as Wire’s voice had gotten an intimidating sound to it. He frowned slightly at the Porygon-Z’s blank face, then decided the sudden change in his voice was just because of how Wire talked.
“Well, I’ve never heard anyone describe me as polite. I would hate to disappoint,” he said, bringing his attention to the front. Something was bothering the back of his head, something that wasn’t right.
“No better day to change than today,” Wire stated. Tybalt could feel his eyes boring into the back of his head. His hand instinctively went to the hilt of his sword, but he made no move to take it. The silence dragged on as neither Wanted spoke, Tybalt staring straight ahead, Wire staring at the Togepi.
“I have another question for you,” Wire grumbled, snapping Tybalt out of his thoughts.
“Not now!” he snapped back, his brows furrowing in annoyance. It was unknown as to why Tybalt was doing as he was doing when the mere thought of working with something disgusted him. He could never rely on them, could never trust them. They would always disappoint him. He was the wrong person to bring all the Wanted together, and he did nothing to change that.
“I’d like to know who’s planning this. It’s common courtesy to not leave people a-hangin’.” It was hard following Wire’s speech at times, and Tybalt rolled his eyes.
“Wire, I’ve told you time and again that she’ll tell me when she’s ready. You’ll know as soon as I do,” he drawled, not bothering to keep his total lack of respect for the other Wanted out of his voice.
“That’s curious, LOL. Cause I always thought you were the brains,” he said, in turn not hiding his humor and mocking tone from Tybalt. Tybalt said nothing, the jibe hitting true, but he was adept at self-control. Wire sighed through his nose, the Togepi’s continued lack of interest becoming a bother. “Can’t say this is very fun, Tybs,” he muttered under his breath.
Tybalt spun, his face furious. “Don’t blame me for your sad excuse that you call a life,” he snarled. Wire looked down and noted Tybalt’s sword was in his hand. Did the Togepi mean to do that?
“Not very nice, Tybs,” he said, looking back at Tybalt. “What’s with the sword?” Tybalt looked down at his hand, then shot a glare at Wire, turning on his heel and trudging through the trees. What a bother, what a nuisance. Will he ever escape such a life? “Tyyyyyyballlllllllt.”
“What?!” He turned once again to face the Porygon-Z, it’s face blank.
“I have a novel idea,” he stated. Tybalt rolled his eyes and kept walking. Wire followed close behind. “Let us have a fight to the death.”
“Oh, give me a break,” Tybalt snarled without turning.
“I am completely serious, Tybs. If I win, we get to go attack a nice town, the two of us, together. If you win… what would you like?”
“The point of a fight to the death means one of us will be dead, idiot,” he stated, swiping a branch out of his way with his sword.
“I am not an iiiiiiiidiot.” Wire stopped walking, staring at Tybalt’s head. Tybalt stopped and turned. The deep menacing voice coming from the other Wanted sounded like he was mad, but Wire was faulty, you could never tell. But Tybalt saw the look in his eyes. He really did want to fight.
Tybalt sighed slowly, “Not today, Wire.” He turned and continued on his way. It was best to avoid this situation.
“NOW, Tybs.” Tybalt was suddenly slammed to the ground as a hard force hit his back. He was momentarily stunned, but he managed to get back to his feet right in time to dodge a well-aimed punch to the face from Wire. He swiped at the insane Wanted, his sword making a nice but unfashionable cut in his pink and blue sweater. He had to think fast, because the moves at his disposal weren’t reliable. He knew the danger he was in, and cursed how complete idiocy was the reason he was in it.
Electricity sparked from Wire’s arms and Tybalt barely managed to dodge behind on of the trees of Baxash. He let out a yell as the amount of electricity discharged from the Porygon-Z swirled around the tree, jabbing at him. He needed one chance and Metronome, random as it was, was his best chance.
He tapped into it’s energy and lunged forward, his sword encircling in darkness and swiping at Wire. “BZZZZZZZT ERROR ERROR!” Static spat from Wire’s arm as a dark slash ran across it, exposing what must have been his mechanic insides. Tybalt was taken by surprise at this and the ground suddenly lurched under him as the trees seemed to wobble, the dimensions becoming unstable as Wire used Trick Room. Tybalt found himself sluggish and couldn’t move fast enough to dodge the Signal Beam to the chest. Tybalt threw up his arms and triggered Metronome again, a sudden screen of light appearing in front of him. Oh yes, very useful.
Wire sparked with electricity and sent another Discharge out, the lightning shooting in all directions. Tybalt was barely protected by the shield, but with teeth gritted, he lunged at Wire, his sword going straight for the neck. Wire dodged to the side, the warped surroundings making this fight seem more part of cyberspace than the jungles of Baxash. Tybalt slashed again, his muscles burning from his attempt to push out of this unnatural slowness he felt. Triggering Metronome once again, he suddenly found his arms punching repeatedly at Wire, his fists coated in metal. Bulletpunch continued for a few moments and Wire’s body was pummeled to the ground, the warped room disappearing. Tybalt lunged in fro the finishing move, and before he could even widen his eyes, electricity burst from the Porygon-Z, its eyes, nose, every opening discharging it. Tybalt was thrown back, his arm smashing against a tree and his continued flight only ended at the middle of another tree. He slammed through the branches, several bones breaking as of yet he wasn’t able to register anything happening to him, the pain from the electrocution making his mind numb.
He laid there, broken and brushed, several parts of him feeling singed. He was not able to see the full extent of the damage the powerful Discharge had done, otherwise he would have fainted from the burns along his limbs, his singed hair. But perhaps ignorance was bliss as his eyes slowly drooped to close. Just a little sleep, this numbness he felt was a relief from his constant tension.
Only when he saw the pink and blue toenails of Wire did his eyes open.
Wire’s face came into few as he lowered himself to look into his friend’s eyes. “I win. Time to go attack a town.” And with that his robotic face broke into a grin.
