Very, VERY cool. The color definitely helps make the background pop. ^^

thanks but i just cant bring myself to like it. its too, 'bland'. not dynamic at all and am a bit disappointing with myself on the end product. thats why it went to the scraps folder. should have used one of the other 2 ideas, they were at least more dynamic in composition... may just reopen them in the morning and start them off in a rough greyscale and see where i get to before i start plotting out the new weekly challenge image.
theme for this week is "End Game". a bit at a loss for ideas for that one but will have a nice think about it while i rough in the greyscales

Not dynamic enough, you say? hmm... I think that's coz of the lighthouse--it looks like a miniature and not far in the background. Maybe if the ray of light dispersed more as it comes to foreground it might help? Or if the cliff the lighthouse is on was darker/less lit up.
End Game? I imagine the guy from Aliens screaming "game over man!!" XD''

hmmm, like where you are going with this. may just reopen it some time and have a scratch around.
game over man! now was that hudson or was it higgs? i just cant seem to remember. poor actor, he gets killed by the alien and the predator... and even the terminator kills him. he was just born to get killed by famous movie monsters

XDD I didn't realize that he was in all three of those movies! XD I think it was Hudson that was screaming game over, because wasn't Higgs the one soldier that actually survived at the end?

lol, and we've already had the discussion of Aliens 3. XD
Ah, lucky! I wish I could watch awesome sci-fi movies whenever! My DVD collection here at college is severely lacking any action or sci-fi and is oddly dominated by chick flicks for some reason. >__>;;

ah yes, the alien 3 conversation. could always have a quick lecture about that one. always something good to say for it and its always great to go over it again
lacking scifi movies, well that's just terrible. shame. SHAME. and one more time. .. SHAME! if i was on the same continent i would gladly bombard you with lots of lovely scifi movies until your eyes peeled back and you started talking like Rocky Balboa... no particular reason why but it could happen.
chick flicks... hmmm... i can only make an odd guess here as to why, a shot in you dark... could be because you are a girl unless i have been miss informed and you are actually a balding middle aged male comic book geek who likes to pretend to be a little girl named suzie on weekends.... but i highly doubt that.
shhhh, tis a secret but i actually quite enjoy chick flicks. yes the secret is out, Robin likes happy girly movies, oh god what have i done.

SORRY, jeez but I have to buy all my movies on my own and I usually wait until I find them for dirt cheap prices, which none of the good sci fi movies seem to go that low... *sad face*
But...mah name is Sarah! x__x And chick flicks do not have to be gender specific to be liked. ...despite their stereotyped genre title. XDD They're feel good movies and they're so cute! And they always have a happy ending, which is kinda hard to find nowadays... I saw Up In The Air a little while ago, and I think it was supposed to have been a romantic comedy, but the ending was really sad.
lol, it's okay. My dad secretly watches chick flicks too--he'll flip through the tv channels and stop on all the women's networks. XDD

a pitty really, am getting myself a copy of "avalon" at the moment. but will be a while before its done. looks to be good but refuse to look at peoples comments before i have an opinion of it of my own. if i was in america then i would gladly lend you a copy of "tom thumbs secret adventures". i absolutely love that movie
well hello sarah, will have to make a mental note of that since i am terrible with names and after a while you name i my head becomes AppleCherry. will try to remember the name form now on...*forgets it immediately* well my inner chick is quite active so i likes me some chicky flicks, though i am also a big fan of horror. which some men might say that chick flicks and horror are one in the same, hmmm...
yes, Robin likes the occasional happy feel good fluffy feelings movie but am a bit tired of the predictable storylines and the obvious happy ending. unless of course i switch off my brain. if so, then i really enjoy them and whats this about having hard to find happy ending, everything has a happy ending now a days. its been years since i saw a good ending that makes me say, 'hey that was nice'. for once i want to see the good guy to lose. for there to be an unhappy but clever ending that leaves you feeling satisfied. but then again they just dont make movies like that
havent seen the movie 'Up in the air" so no comments from me. wouldnt mind seeing it though
well i watch the cooking channel and the home channel dont even hide it. Also love me some good documentaries.

Avalon...that sounds familiar. What's it about?
XD It's okay, you can just keep calling me AppleCherry.
Chick flicks and horror are only the same if the girl you're watching them with clings to you throughout both. XDD
Well, maybe endings now are happy, but most of them are very unsatisfying and open-ended. A lot of the sci fi and horror I've seen in the past few years have had dreadfully terrible endings where the supposedly dead person will come back RIGHT at the end and then the movie's over. Stupid things like abrupt endings with no real resolution...
I thought it was good and the friends I saw it with liked it too. I think it stars George Clooney...
lol, I love the cooking channel. XDD It always makes me hungry though.. >w>

avalon, a movie by mamori oshi. the man who created ghost in the shell. it's set int he future where people play virtual reality games but get far too attached to them. in the games there is a special level where only the best players can get and if you die on that level you actually die in real life. havent watched it yet so cant explain in too much detail but will attach a trailer for you instead

but sometimes a bad chickflick can feel like a horror movie, does that count. and dont worry i wont be forgetting the dame suzi in a long time... um i mean sasha... no um... sarah. yup thats it.
have to agrea with you about the unsatisfying endings. often the movies build up for a long time and then just suddenly end as if they ran out of tape or something. nothing worse than an unsatisfactory ending. ah the horror movies that show them coming back, they love doing that with hillbilly freak movies. it's such a cliche by now i would hope someone would do something different by now. what i want is a clever ending or something that leaves you saying "aaah, so thats what it was". something that really sticks with you and possibly leaves a grin on your face
George Clooney! could be good. hopefully its a comedy because he is great with comedy. a smug bastard but a weird little man. so will try and watch the movie some time.
same here! i cant help but get hungry from the cooking channel. but everything just looks so damn good and they make it look so quick and easy. the closest i get is a milk tart or some puff pastrys. though i havent made anything in a long time

Looks...interesting. And were they speaking FRENCH? I think I watched a movie by the same guy the other day, it was called Sky Crawlers--the effects and setting and animation were beautiful but the plot, if it even had one, didn't make a lick of sense. >.>;
Totally counts. XD
yeah, that'd be nice but no one seems to have though of that. lol, We need a star wars of the 2010s to shake things up. XD (coz Star Wars at it's time was really different for not using the same anti-heroes and plot devices as everyone else)
It's a sophisticated comedy I think. It might be dry british humor or something--I only giggled a few times but I still liked it..

looks very interesting indeed. oh and they were speaking Polish. AH! have never heard of Sky Crawlers before but it looks like it could be one of his. will have to check it out now! wish i could go to a cinema and watch these kinda things
good, nothing worse than a bad chicky flicky
what we need is a Bladerunner of 2010! bladerunner wasnt well received when it first came out and was ahead of its time quite literally. only a few years later did it really become famous and is still today an awe inspiring and jawdropping movie.
well, if you liked it then i will have to give it a look as soon as i can get ahold of a copy. either that or get to grahamstown to watch it in the cinema but dont see that quite happening

Polish? Well okay then... *has never heard Polish spoken before* I didn't see Sky Crawlers in a cinema--I was at anime club and someone had the DVD so we decided to watch it.
I tried watching Bladerunner a few times, I keep getting bored like 20 minutes in. >__>;

polish is quite an odd language i will admit. but i loves me some foreign films. wish i had more!
and stop bribing me with ideas of ANIME club. you will just bring me to tears. wish i could go to that. never been part of a club before so i guess it must be nice.
you couldnt watch BLADERUNNER! dont mind me while i pull this knife out of my back... you have to watch it! i will put those eye openers from clockwork orange on you and make you watch it. just to repent for you sin of not watching bladerunner i will just have to watch it again tomorrow.

It's not that great. I've been to 2 meetings so far and each time the 5 other people that actually show up get into a fight and one person has stormed out twice on both occasions. I just can't get into it. I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying I myself have not been able to sit through it.

but thats a good enough reason to go. i would love to see everyone wailing at each other until it erupts in someone walking out. better than a move. a comedy with a bit of drama
shaaame! if i were there i would get you to watch it. would do whatever it takes to keep you interested in the movie.
