Description
fractal manipulation.pieced together from pieces of fractal created using apophysis and then all put together using photoshop.
the dashed lines and a fe other faint star shapes added using photshop brushes everything else is made from pieces of fractal
Edit: a twin to this piece as such can be found in my gallery here [link]
and a HUGE and special thanks to *heavenriver for suggesting it and to ^DragonWinter for featuring it

It's amazing. And the end of the wings is really interesting. It makes the angel looks a bit... scary to me.

thankyou so much for the compliment
i think the original concept here was more that the angel was falling -hence the second piece of someone waiting to catch her. not to mention beautiful things can also be scary

That's interesting! And I agree, beauty is often scary.
You're welcome, of course.

thankyou so very much for the compliments and the
its a style that i sort of developed by accident (because i was incompetent using apophysis to begin with and to a degree i still am ) i took the shapes i renderd into photoshop and began to piece them together. this sort of thing is the result

My pleasure, and hey, practice makes perfect...plus every time u make something new, u learn something new, whether good or not so good, experimenting is the way of life xD Plus we might get such good results as this one ^^

The use of negative with fractal is purely great, I never thought of something like this, it's a gorgeous work ^^

thankyou so much for the compliment and thankyou so much for the comments. i will say sorry for the slow response i started working like this originally because i was still very confused about just how to work apophysis - a friend suggested i try it and gave me the link to download it and that was that i didn't have any real instructions lol - so i just moved to taking the shapes i did make ( originally by using the print screen key) into photoshop and began to make my first experiments in this style - its something 'different' i've been told and just now other people have caught on to trying this way of using fractals and its nice to know this style has inspired others

thankyou so much for the compliment fractals are usually generated with a program that uses mathematics to create shapes and patterns etc. but i like to let the fractal program i use do its own thing then take the random shapes created into photoshop and make things like this

deneen990 In reply to rockgem [2010-08-24 04:53:17 +0000 UTC]
thats a pretty amazing process!!
it looks so great

well the way i use the process it can be a little hit and miss but i find thats part of the fun for me
but i always find the pieces i make are usually worth the efforts in the end

deneen990 In reply to rockgem [2010-08-24 18:03:57 +0000 UTC]
well thats good, every stroke of it looks intentional ^^ even if its not entireley.

rockgem In reply to deneen990 [2010-08-24 19:12:54 +0000 UTC]
i think its the intentional positioning of all the shapes that gives that illusion but eahc part individually was more or less generated at random and by chance
