my personal theory is that this is a schizonuma creature (a multidimentional being that can bond with humans) being healed by an angelic spirit.
This portrays the transcendance of Lucifer the Fallen from demonic to Sidhe spirit.

One more comment--the inclusion of a generic "happy face icon" seems to clash with the rest of the image.
If it's supposed to be a man's face emerging, it would be better to do it in the same style as the rest of the plant-thing.

Interesting thoughts there. My original conception was for it to be a mask to its true form, i didn't intend for it to have a particular identity (and thus a particular conception of their relationship, or anything too misleading). That's my thoughts on the image. I also wanted a contrast to the rendering, i thought its 2D-cartooniness might make it more eerie or something like that. I suppose next time i might find a way to make it more subtle! thanks.

to me this looks like a carniferous plant has eaten the man, or it is a male plant, and the female is taking the pollen form the ripe flower, covered in pollen (smily face) she is like a beautiful hummingbird kissing the flower.
then we can see other little faces in young flowers around her!
am i right? or is that too obvious, or maybe there is not actually a description. its just what you have drawn!
ab fab shading, my favourit element is her hair, it looks so real!

im very impressed with the muscle work on the female. very realistic and beautiful
one comment: on the man/beasts arm, the shoulder muscle seems a bit high or offset. it might just be me, but it seems a bit awkward.
