Cool- looks like Titanis or Gastornis, or any Phorusrhacid for that matter! Great wings as well.

yeah i kind of agree with shadowedhalo about how it looks unstable. I'm no expert on animal anatomy but i do know that the way the chest protrudes out that far away from its legs with the wings as well seems like it would fall over with feet that small. correct if i'm wrong, because i probably am, your anatomy when it comes to these things is superb

Does it really look all that dinosauresque? I thought of it just as a large bird, I mean, no teeth, no tail..

Yeah, I was just making a joke. I guess it's just its stance (and the face, neck, and feet kinda) that that reminded me vaguely of a theropod dinosaur. But yeah, it's definitely a bird.

When I saw it in the tiny view my first thought was Chocobo... glad the large view proved me wrong!
I wonder what it would look like with slightly longer wings... they seem a little stubby.

A friend of mine also poited out that it looks like a chocobo. However, it's actually inspired in the same creatures chocobos are, Phorusrhacids and such prehistoric flightless birds. They did have small wings, and some other flightless birds like the kiwi do barely even have.

Sorry to mention the Chocobo.
As far as the wings, I trust your research and knowledge of prehistoric bird anatomy... I just have a hard time picturing him running around without losing his balance and falling forward. I guess that tail's heavier than it looks

well natural history as proven use that giant birds can have good balance almost without any wings, such as moas or phorusrhacids can run with no problem, moving their long necks and or heavy heads as counterbalance.

Ah. I think the heavy neck is what made it look to me like he'd tip over... Well, thanks for clarifying that. Birds are strange

Heh, Hermoso bichito feo!
