Description SPOILERS!! LOOK AWAY IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM YET!!

ok when you watch the trailer for the new Godzilla, they make it look like the government has been covering his tracks whenever he attacks, and that he would finally be exposed when its time to fight the new monster, but in the movie the destruction and cover up mainly goes to the Mutos who destroy everything and eat everything, meanwhile a bunch of ships and scientists follow him around like a whale migrating and basically it made me think of this, cus Godzilla is actually a bit sweeter than the other two Mutos in the film

i made a post on tumblr which got so popular in just 24 hours that inspired me to make the post into a short comic about the two different monsters in the new Godzilla film ; u ;

and i gotta say it was pretty successful, the new post with the comic was more popular than the original, and im pretty proud of myself for finally getting something super popular on tumblr where most of my stuff never gets noticed

hope you enjoy, see Godzilla in theaters everywhere now playing

i do not own Godzilla or the Mutos, Godzilla belongs to Toho studios and the Mutos belong to Garreth Edwards

Might I throw this out there? Godzilla in the new movie is 250 million years old. He is older than the goddamn dinosaurs. He is absurdly old, he has no time to cut through your buildings.

Except now he knows that it hurts like a sunovabitch when one of those buildings fall on him.  He's learned his lesson.  Walk around the big shiny metal thingies.

RoFlo-Felorez In reply to Sabor335 [2014-08-09 20:24:13 +0000 UTC]

actually they never really explain the details on that, yeah he was around before the dinosaurs but they dont clarify if he himself was  there all along or if he was a member of a species that was around before then, cus i dont think any creature could even live for a single million years, let alone 250 million, my guess is that maybe each one lives up to 200 years or more (idk the number) so there have to been a lot more Godzillas in the family tree that eventually led up to G14 cus they mentioned that skeleton of a previous one that had been killed by the Mutos, so surely there were more

but yeah he is pretty old cant argue that

Aww this is pretty much what I was thinking.  The MUTOS seemed to be more malicious toward mankind, while Gman was pretty ok with humanity...even trying to save some.  But their both big creatures so....yea

RoFlo-Felorez In reply to KrazyStargazer [2014-08-02 08:42:43 +0000 UTC]

yeah i bet Garreth wanted to promote Godzilla as a dangerous force of nature who doesnt care for mankind, so that when we watch the film we realize how much sweeter he is and how he can be more of a hero than we expected

KrazyStargazer In reply to RoFlo-Felorez [2014-08-02 22:11:41 +0000 UTC]

I was surprised.  Considering his origins, and known prowess for just destroying stuff, he was the hero in this movie.  I thought that was a nice change o pace from the whole 'humans are evil' thing.  I actually like his role in the movie.  Someone compared him to the 'sheriff' of Earth and I think that fits 2014Godzilla perfectly.

RoFlo-Felorez In reply to KrazyStargazer [2014-08-09 20:27:32 +0000 UTC]

hahah yeah it does actually, cus stuff goes wrong on earth all the time and sometimes only Godzilla can be the one to set things straight, even if it gets a little messy we at least have him to get the job done, so he's not all bad as the military thinks he is c:

it is really tough to micromanage when you're 350 feet tall, so he's just like "ahh fuck it, you take what you can get" xD

and yeah i loved it, they beat me to the punch with the whole idea of Godzilla causing less damage than Superman hahaha

Yeah, it's pretty funny that Godzilla in this film is so... cautious, when the original Big G was all "Who cares about the damn buildings, I've got bigger things to worry about, like that shiny three-headed asshole!"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RoFlo-Felorez In reply to Dalek1965 [2014-08-02 08:44:20 +0000 UTC]

hahaha my guess is that maybe in his previous adventures he didnt give a shit, but then realized that breaking buildings causes people to shoot firecrackers at his body so he just figured its less hassle when you try to avoid causing damage, or at least cause as little damage as possible

well some people in the comments seem to disagree, but i really wouldnt hold it against him, it was the military's fault for shooting him in the gills and knocking him into the bridge, all he was trying to do was find a way to get around with as little damage as possible

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

stitchpunk16 In reply to RoFlo-Felorez [2014-07-19 07:48:42 +0000 UTC]

I honestly had no idea they hit him in the gills! heh. I mean, they fired at his back, which I'm guessing that's where the gills were? heh. I'll have to see the movie again when it comes out on DVD. because, as far as I could tell, They were firing, because he rose out of the water. sooooeh. I'll just have to have a second look

www.youtube.com/watch?v=093AIE… here ya go

his gills are on his neck, somewhere behind and below his jaws, if you look closely you'll see that they repeatedly shot him right in his gills so clearly the poor thing was suffocating from all the fire and explosions, i side with Goji 100%

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

stitchpunk16 In reply to RoFlo-Felorez [2014-08-21 17:15:32 +0000 UTC]

I see that. but my point is that they hadn't shot at his gills, UNTIL he stood up. I completely agree with you though that he's probably suffocating. but the only thing that they were shooting at prior to his emerging from the water was his back. heh. but I love the big lug anyhow

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RoFlo-Felorez In reply to stitchpunk16 [2014-08-31 07:44:54 +0000 UTC]

haha yeah he's a loveable lug, my guess is that he was probably trying to search for a good stance underwater but then he probably started to slip so he grabbed the bridge, meanwhile everyone's shooting him in the gills so he just had to get away and he happened to tear through the bridge

stitchpunk16 In reply to RoFlo-Felorez [2014-08-31 08:19:47 +0000 UTC]

Lol! So true!! I was so upset when in the movie they were following Godzilla like some kind of criminal while were just looking sometimes at one of the MUTOs like "oh thers a monster in the town but no big deal its just damaging some houses *noob face"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RoFlo-Felorez In reply to firedragoness357 [2014-07-13 11:40:16 +0000 UTC]

yeah what was up with that? pretty much everything was criminalizing Godzilla as the bigger danger to humanity, even the trailers make all of the Muto damage look like "ohhhh Godzilla's coming to destroy the wooorrlld"

Godzilla just shows up, tries really hard to make as little damage as he can, fights the monsters, avoids killing people when he can, and saves the world from parasites, meanwhile the Mutos murder countless people, destroy everything in their path, constantly fight with the military, and nearly sent humanity to nuclear extinction with their parasitic nest of a million babies, and people just say "wow Mutos are so cute! OTP Mutos! Godzilla murdered those kids on that bridge, he's not a hero at all" ... people

Also, if you watch the scene where The Big Guy visits the Golden Gate Bridge, which is available on Youtube, you'll notice that, as he plows through the bridge, he get shot right in the gills on his neck by a cannon shot from a tank.  And does he turn around and whoop the military's collective asses?  Nope.  He just mpwers through and keeps marching on towards his main target; the only other living creature that he considers a genuine threat to him.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RoFlo-Felorez In reply to DeadPegasus [2014-07-09 06:55:59 +0000 UTC]

YES THANK YOU

my God everyone has been telling me about how he shouldn't be glorified for having destroyed the Golden Gate Bridge, but seriously he only did that because the missiles were blasting his face and knocking him off his stance, and you're right he just walked away from them all and looked for the Mutos without doing any direct damage to the military, also there might be reason to believe that maybe a few cars and buses fell into the ocean, but the bridge couldnt have completely been destroyed (but then again i dont know much about bridges) but yeah despite his clumsiness he was less violent than the Mutos

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DeadPegasus In reply to RoFlo-Felorez [2014-07-09 13:17:00 +0000 UTC]

He had to go through the beridge because by the time he reached the bridge, the waters wer to shallow for him to swim through.  He saw no point in crawling under it on his belly, so he stood up and walked on.
