The one who keeps the dead down....Sabriel and her obnoxious (yet enigmatic and extremely dangerous) servant Mogget!
I hadn't done Old Kingdom Trilogy fanart in quite a while, and I figured I'd just run with doing it in pencil. It's great fantasy, albeit actually very short, fast reads, but the overall flavor and sense of how teenagers think really struck a chord with me when I first read them.
Sabriel is the Abhorsen - a 'good' Necromancer whose job is to travel the Kingdom and protect the populace from the restless undead. I was always in love with the use of music and certain tones as a conduit for magic in these books - her bells are used for manipulating dead (or living) spirits and bending them to her will. Obviously enough, she's got in her left hand Saraneth, the Binder (favourite bell of the Abhorsens from my impressions).

I love these books, sabriel most of all, and good fanart is exceptionally hard to find, don't you think? Lucky for me I just found some very good fanart. Cracking stuff.
