The device is a rock. What does it do? Nothing. AN ETERNITY OF PERPETUAL IMMOBILITY.
Board of directors ->
It's not as bad as releasing PokΓ©mon. Same concept of data loss, much stronger effect.

releasing pokemon is the saddest. i even feel bad releasing the millions that are bread when IV training

It is weird, isn't it? You get connected to them even if you don't use them. I think the revulsion I feel when thinking of releasing a starter is why I haven't gotten rid of my old games (Red, Silver/Gold) yet. There are many characters in them that can't just be thrown away. Transferring my Swampert to 4th gen was like the death knell for Sapphire.

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2013-02-03 19:23:33 +0000 UTC]

it is also impossible to restart old files. that is like releasing all your pokemon at once. it was pretty smart of them to only put one save file... they must know that people cannot restart their games and must therefore buy more

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-03 21:21:19 +0000 UTC]

Good point. Restarting a file makes the feeling of loss all the more obvious. I don't know anyone who can easily clear their data and release all their digital buddies. One of my friends played through a game with the intent to clear it afterward, but she transferred her team to her husband's game to preserve the Eevee combo. (really weird thinking about my friends in those terms; they weren't even engaged back then)

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2013-02-03 22:12:37 +0000 UTC]

I have a friend who will regularly restart files for nuzlocke runs but they have to be old files and not her favorite games
i find transferring my favorites off the game they were made in is just really really hard to do

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-04 00:59:33 +0000 UTC]

Nuzlocking is interesting but I don't like the idea of losing them. Really losing them. That might be harder than choosing to delete the data.
I know. Sapphire feels like an empty shell with a run down internal clock now that my team has left it behind.

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2013-02-04 03:30:24 +0000 UTC]

yeah my friend can't bear to actually release them - just puts them in a box marked "dead"
she oncehad the opportunity to catch a pokemon that killed one of hers and she begrudgingly caught it, named it "killer" and stuck it in a box never to be seen again
sapphire remake pleaaase

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-04 04:52:17 +0000 UTC]

That is what I would probably do. lD They're not dead and you can't make me get rid of them just because I'm supposed to...
That sounds like a long-term grudge in the making. Also, does that make The Box solitary confinement?
But with more stuff because we gamers always need to do more stuff.

i suppose it does make it that
yes, all the stuff. remade like the new one coming out... ohhhh that's my dearest wish

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-05 05:41:35 +0000 UTC]

Your dearest wish is for all the old PokΓ©mon games to be remade as fancy-pants new 3DS titles? I suppose that's a good wish... for someone who's never seen THE MEGA POKΓ©MON OMNIVERSE THAT IS IN ETERNAL NONEXISTENCE! They won't ever make that.

yes. yes it is.
they ought to make lots of wonderful pokemon games

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-05 07:59:37 +0000 UTC]

They should just make one giant game from all the past games like people want. A real MMO. It would sell like hotcakes that were also collectable. Gotta get all the hotcakes, all 151.

I think that has been done. Pretty sure my friend Jon personally wrote like a couple hundred. There are many approximations in the previous sentence.

i am very sad that Jon seems not to have accomplished much

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-06 15:44:24 +0000 UTC]

He accomplished some stuff. What, exactly, I'm not sure. He didn't show up in his room or in class for a full semester and then disappeared on academic probation. I am very curious as to what he accomplished with all that time. It could have been several dozen Nuzlockes or it could have been a plot for world domination with genetically enhanced banjos.

That is not a bad way to spend one's time, assuming that school and a job aren't happening. Hey, that sounds like my last two summers. Woooooooooo.
Are there jobs in California?

On a related note, I still need to go after all the stuff in White version. Too many things to do all at once.

school is aghlasdha right now. i have three midterms next week. thought it was two but i was wrrooooong
and hmmm i cannot tell you. probably some. probably temp work - that's all my dad seems to be finding but that revolves around accounting. also if you are a software engineer you are probably set.

i got keldeoooo todaaay my little pokemonyyyy so happyyyyyy

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-08 04:01:58 +0000 UTC]

Oh. Woooooooooo. That is like way more stuff than I have to do.
Temporary work for anyone is :/ It's work in the meantime but you know it won't last and you'll need more soon. Either a sign of a very mobile economy or a barely mobile economy. Software engineers are needed for everything. I wish that was also true for writers (could be soon).
Where did you get it from and what will you do now? The remainder of this story on the late late news.

plus i have a quiz on deer skeletons and some statistical measure-type stuff. oh yes and a paper-ish thing on the mortality profiles as i mentioned. out of these things and the three midterms, i am most worried about this quiz
well it miiiight lead to other things though and it's better than nothiiing yaaaay
if only i found engineering to be at all interesting
it's a wifi event for black and white 2
aaand i will probably do nothing with it. but i've collected it.

The top deer bone is connected to the middle deer bone. I have seen buckets of deer legs so I know what I'm talking about, mmhmm. Good luck with those as they approach.
True. At least it's something.
That is the fate of nearly all Pokes.

theee deer metatarsal is connected to the deer external and middle cuneiform and navicol-cuboid. and also connect to phalanges. not quite the same ring to it.
trying to study now. as you may have gathered, it is not going so well. but i do know my carpals and tarsals now so yaaaaay
pretty much all but 6 to 10 really...

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-09 03:42:32 +0000 UTC]

It sounds like a song translated into English in a Japanese-made videogame. Or vice versa. The rhythm is intended but it just isn't around anymore. (rhythm, one word where y is sometimes a vowel)
How does one count deer fingers/toes? Is it a long list of twenty or two sets of 10 like humans?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2013-02-09 06:05:18 +0000 UTC]

i spelled one of those things wrong. it is a naviculo cuboid (not navicol)
also bleh now im reading about statisticsss
well deer have 2 toes that touch the ground on each foot and some vestigial toes but im not sure how many... 1 or 2... so i suppose it depends how you're counting

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-09 06:14:05 +0000 UTC]

That rhymes so much better.
CURSE YOU, NUMBERSSSSSS! That's what I'm reading into that.
This only further complicates the issue. We must go deeper! Into study. Of deer. Within the study of deer. Can deer count with so few digits? What is their concept of three?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2013-02-09 19:54:04 +0000 UTC]

oh yes, perfect song now
haha, well it wasn't thaaat bad. but yes.
if deer could count they would probably count by 4s instead of 10s (assuming they aren't using vestigial toes)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-10 06:05:01 +0000 UTC]

Maybe it is a sign that you should do math more frequently. Practice would lessen the pain of immersion.
Nobody uses those extra toes. The deerimetric system shall never replace the nonsensical measurements of America!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2013-02-11 04:02:12 +0000 UTC]

ridiculous
not sure they will ever be replaced. instead we will just be forced to know both.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-02-11 05:46:09 +0000 UTC]

Only in some senses of the word.
That seems to be the truth as it stands in the US of A right now. All classes want metric but society uses imperial. Science classes want APA when MLA is clearly the easier citation system for the people.

One group or another is too lazy to admit that they should do it the other way, so nothing gets changed. Number systems are just like politics.

I think the only games that have gotten me to cry would be Mass Effect 3 and Final Fantasy X. the next Layton game might get me though because Emmy is leaving D:
