Once there was a German king and a queen who had a terrible mouse problem...
The Mouse King and Queen had many many spoiled children who would take what ever they wanted. This being food, trinkets, ANYTHING. The german king and queen were being eaten out of house and home.

They tried everything from cats to poisons, and even pipers. But none had ever suceeded in catching even one mouse. So they called upon the local clockmaker, Drosselmeyer to come up with a solution.

He invented traps, that would kill any mouse who dared enter it. The traps proved to be a great success in killing the mouse queen's children.

The mouse king decided he would put a stop to Drosselmeyer, but the only good the mouse king could do before he was killed was take the clockmaker's eye.

Heartbroken and left with only one child (that is unless you count his seven heads) the mouse queen vowed revenge upon the german royal family. She would target the one thing the king and queen held dear, and that was there youngest daughter.
