Description Lolz, I suck. xD.

Alright, so, after request #30 that I make a wing tutorial (thanks Robin... xD), I finally did it. I made a wing tutorial.

Why? Because I'm freakin' sick and tired of seeing growths that resemble wings. I mean, some people I"ve seen have done well- but there's juuuuust something not right.

Well, my dad and I had a discussion about how the hell one would go about putting wings on a horse. So we found a way- and now I'm sharing it with all of you!

I know I've still got to work on 'blending' the wings myself- when I figure out how to blend them better, I'll let everyone know. It's still a work in process, as my dad and I had to manually figure out the direct ratio of a human's real wingspan to their fantasy wingspan, then convert that ratio using height, weight, and body size. Honestly, I'm sick of the math part of it. XD. (All ratios are 3:1, by the way.)

So... just remember, please, to use this tutorial and to pass it on to others. I'd really like to see the wing quality pick up around dA and other sites- I think it'd be awesome to see 'winged horses' in movies and such with both the ratio my father and I figured out and the addition of the pectoral bone- it's gonna be a wild ride, folks.

((By the way- no, they would NOT fly vertically. You know, wings DO bend! XD))

haha do you mean the people who draw their pegasi with wings always raised? I always found that rather odd as well.

Perhaps you should display this at full size instead of making people download to see the whole image.. also, it'd be nice if the wing were more clearly outlined so we could differentiate it easier from the rest of the body.

Alright, will do. I'm going to make one that goes further in-depth, so I'll include the lineart on that next one ^_^

You've made a wing tutorial!!! Now that I see, Unigano's wings are too smal... Okay, so all my Uni wings are small... XD Good thing I only have two...

I seriously admire you. You've actually done calculations!!!... I'd never bother doing it for a picture, though I might adventure doing it for a story...

Hee hee xD. The calculations are easy enough to figure out- just make the wings 3 times the size of the body total, but you could get away with 1.5 times the size of the body or 2 times the size. That's not just the flight line area- it's the whole thing. xD. It makes the wings sound wicked huge, but when you're looking at them, it really makes sense o_o;;
