Description

Guess who got to draw some handsome pons for others? 'Tis this bean, moi I was honoured by the awesome Cookie1992 to purchase a handful of her horses out of the amazing Athan Ambar. We at bloodstone are so BEYOND excited to get these lovely ladies here as well as expanding our breeding projects. Hopefully this is the beginning of some awesome teamwork, Cookie

Also, this boy was such a doll to draw. I loved looking into their personalities and attempting to bring it out in their entries.

{ Blight for Flight }✈️

At Northgate Farm in North Dakota. Lei, Isa, and Dareen rose early in the morning to tend to their four horses...

When Lei finally was warming up for his class, he was relieved. Not only had he been coaching Isa over the weekend, he was trialing two Trakehner Stallions from CT Dutch Equine. He was pleased to be the one honoured with the ride but it was a handful, even if he didn't want to admit it fully. Blight had a tendency to get forward and challenge Lei in the saddle, the young stallion knew the man was small on his back but misjudged his ability to sit. After a short negotiation in the warm up they were off on the right hoof.

The chestnut had a beautiful gate and was a flashy colour and shone in the morning sun like a fresh copper penny. The young horse had a good look at everything, the funny glass in the arena, the orange things on the ground, and the ...food? The stallion wasn't sure about the food that was so close to the obstacles, surely someone wouldn't waste such a good looking snack.

It was not long before the pair was called and Lei trotted Blight into the arena, who halted square with a snort. The chestnut mouthed the bit and tossed his head in slight protest to have to wait for the toll to continue. Once the bell rang Blight was eager to jump into his stride but Lei sat deeper in the saddle, hushing the stallion. The was more head tossing and some impatient ear flicking before he settled once more. Lei didn't mind that the time ran but gently nudged the stud's sides once he felt minded and organized to continue. Blight eagerly complied, spring forward and perfectly round and on the bit. Lei smiled to himself, pleased with the stallion's frame and movement. Lei purred and cooed softly to the stallion as they neared the first jump, eyes and ears pricked and forward. Blight practically stepped over the first jump that was a simple vertical and gave a self satisfied tail flick after. Lei enjoyed the boy's zest and liked his style and confidence.

The pair confidently sailed through the course, making light of each jump. With each obstacle Blight became more aware of his objective and more trusting of Lei. Although the man on his back was new to hime, he gave Blight lots of praise and it made the sporthorse encouraged to do more.

The pair cleared their round with simple elegance, not having too much of a fuss or complicating the questions and just enjoying each other's company and the ride.
