Back in Middle and Highschool I used to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and then my friend Adam brought me further into the myth of vampires. He introduced me to the awesomeness that was Hellsing. Alucard is such a badass.Then... Twilight came out. At first, I didn't know what it was. It was only a book I saw on the shelves. I thought the cover art was interesting though. Then the hype started. The movie was coming out and all the fans were making a huge deal about it. My friend Kristen and her sister were fans too, so they got me interested.
I figured since I'd see the movie for fun with my friends, I should read a bit of the book to get an idea of what was going on. .... I lasted ten chapters. =_=;; Even with great visualizations, the book was written as if it were a bad OC fanfiction.
As I watched the movie in the theatre (once and once only), I couldn't help but think what Alucard's reaction would have been to this rendition of Vampires.
... I think he'd want to rip them to pieces. >.>;;

Twiiiilight. UGH.
I'm so sick of all the fangirling Twitards in my school:/ I've read three of the four books, liked them, then left them alone to collect dust on my bookshelf. Then the freaking movie randomly pops up and BOOM. Mobs of rabid fangirls drool at the sight of that ugly guy playing Edward--Robert something.
In my school library, guess who's on a giant poster in the entrance? FREAKING UGLY EDWARD CULLEN.
Annyway, here's my version of the whole four Twilight...s...
Bellasue meets hot guy. Hot guy is a vampire who sparkles. She likes that in a guy. Hot vamp likes her. Bellasue and Cullens love eachother, creating a gigantic orgy of love/sparkly/werewolf involved teenaged angst. Bellasue wants to be a vampire. Edward says no. She turns into one anyway. They have sex. Oops, she's pregnant. They name the baby something I can't pronounce. THE END.

LOL! I can really see Alucard saying something like that. I read all the books, and liked them, but in all honesty, I think people have blown it way out of proportion. They're good, books to read when you're bored, but super fan fanatics scare the crap out of me. Fan girls ~shiver~.
As for the movie, I was grossly disappointed. Almost all my favorite parts were either down sized, or left out entirely. The only good acting in that movie (in my opinion of course) were the minor characters like Bella's dad and classmates. It just stunk -_-.

Edward is a bad reinvention of a emo vamp and Bella was a weak willed mary-sue! The entire Twilight Series is cannon fodder, for the tween's hungry for anything remotely "vampire", which is "in" and "popular" right now. It is badly written Fanfiction pure and simple! Not to mention it forces the authorβs religious dogma down our throats.
The series is a discrace to all vampire fans out there....I don't think that even Alucard's hellhouds would eat Edward...he might make them sick!

Look in to Tanya Huff's books, loosely known as the Blood Ties series. Its actually pretty good.
Also I really enjoyed Amelia Atwater-Rhodes's novels..BTW vastly better written then the Twilight series....and written by a teenager!

I'm a fan of the Twilight series up until Breaking Dawn. It helped the "bad OC fan-fiction" reputation.

I personlly couldn't get over the fact that Edward was so emo over the fact he was a vampire when he has NONE of the weaknesses. Drinking blood in Twilight is what eating food is to us. We need it but we could survive on the less tasty stuff.

When vampires start to sparkle, I don't know if I should laugh or cry. Twilights good ofr certain days, like when I'm depressed and need the cheesy romance-ness. But I'll take Buffy or Hellsing any ole day! There's this great book in the "new age" section at Borders it's called the "Everything Vampire Book", I think, but it goes over all the actual lore! Like Vlad the Impaler! I also have a book that names almost any book or movie you could think of about vampires(before the Twilight phase)!
Really great picture though, I wanna see this battle! Alucard would totally kick Edwards butt. But Spike or Angel could also kick Edwards butt....and then kill Bella...painfully

Twilight, I agree, I loved Meyer's style and how she was able to fit so much in one book. But, it was a fanfiction, a bad one, and I think the world could've been better off without the sparkling vampires :\
