Ever wonder what Master Cheif looks like under that helmet? Other artists did. These are the various fanarts I've come across of different artist's renditions of the Chief. I'm sure there's more fan art out there, but I just compiled them all I could find for comparison... and I found something.Everyone seems to imagine the same man. The same basic face.
1) Brown, short, often flipped up hair.
2) Serious eyes, as described in the books
3) A strong face, but not too angular.
4) Scars
5) Firm lips.
6) They all have the same nose! O_o
7) Scruff/stubble on has jaw.

The books give some description, from which I'm sure these artists were aware of. Handsome man standing at attention. “He’s so serious,” Cortana murmured. “Thoughtful eyes though. Seriously. Has anyone else noticed this? We may never see the Chief's face in the actual games, and I pray we never do. But I don't think we have to. We all imagine the same man.

This is what a young teenage version of him looks like from Halo: The Fall of Reach: s3.amazonaws.com/gameskinnyop/… I think it would be much easier now to picture him as an adult with the same features.

Is it the one with a big nose and huge scars on his eye? If so, then no. That one was declared an easter egg of the face of someone who works for Bungie. If it's a different pic, then I have not seen it.

(nice collection, btw. I really hope we never see his face, because a whole lot of artists are going to be bummed.

tbh, I wouldn't want to see Chief's face, It'd ruin the illusion for me haha.
Most artists probably based their idea of what John looks like on the comic representation of him as a child, a lot of these designs do remind me on it.
Still, its interesting to see peoples idea of whats under the helmet

If you could, amassing a list of all the art you sampled would be a nice gesture to the artists and the people who would like to see the pictures you've found larger.

..and I can spot a trace job too in there.
It is interesting that we all gave him the same nose, I guess it comes from him being a white guy. We will be getting a canon Master Chief face soon... (or already? When does the new Reach comic come out?) and 343 said they'd be as generic looking as possible. I will miss my scar pattern, but I guess there's not a lot to fear from it afterall? I dunno, it still feels like the end of a dream to me

I know, right? Kinda creepy, really. Hm.. as far as I know, the comic only shows his boot camp years, hence the title "Boot Camp." The mini series will end in the fourth issue with their first mission right after augmentations (I'm assuming the mission to the Rebel's asteroid base in "The Rubble"). I think it's safe to assume we'll never see him as an adult.
