Description
In almost every retelling of the Amazons and Ares of DC Comcis, the history and dynamics of their relationship varies. For this reason, I went for a more classical approach to the character from the myths and blended in a more personal vendetta against Wonder Woman. This version of Ares is also used in my other series, NeOlympus.Related content

Not sure how much I like this version of Ares and Wonder Woman's relationship. Since the whole reason Ares despises Diana in the comic is because of the sheer COMPASSION that she is willing to show even her enemies! (Before she got revamped,rebooted, etc).Β

You know, I must say that, in giving Ares a spear as his Weapon of Choice, it rather highlights that he's sort of the "Anti-Athena" (also known for favoring a spear). Appropriate, in other words. Question: does this Ares ever use an axe? (DC Comics Ares is often fond of an axe, as seen in Pre-New 52 comics and IGAU).

His three weapons transform into any weapon he'd like. As an example, he is holding all three of these weapons in his NeOlympus picture: his spear becomes a sword, his shield becomes a shotgun, his short sword becomes a pistol.
Ares' shield and spear is literally the symbol of Mars- a planet named after him (and the practically universal symbol for "male")

Nifty. Guess that answers my question about the axe. Loving the black and red color scheme too. Appropriately devilish and villainous.
On a similar note, I must say I adore DCEU/DCCU Ares' costume in the Wonder Woman movie as shown in the action figure released before the film. Talk about a boss design.

I like this version of Ares. Run one sister through with a spear in one dimension, and turn another sister's life upside down in another dimension. So Hippolyta being Ares' daughter, is that a myth with the two of them or something made up?

Ares is Zeus' son from Hera, and is the direct sibling to HephateusΒ (God of Forges), Eris (Goddess Chaos), Hebe (Goddess of Youth), and Eileithyia (Goddess of Childbirth). Those five are the godly children of Zeus and Hera XP

Basically, in the actual Mythology, Ares is Diana's brother/Grandfather while Zeus is her Father/Greatgrandfather while the other gods are either her aunts and uncles, as well as brothers and sisters.
