InformationThis has been my personal project for about a month now and I am so relieved to see it done! This is a small header of all my characters, intended for my profile once I get around to revamping it. Everything is hand-painted and I was a bit torn between calling it pixel art because I was definitely dealing with mere handfuls of pixels at a time or digital painting because I rarely used the pencil tool and instead was using the brush. So it's sorta.. a weird hybrid tinyart thing. Clear enough? xDI attempted to capture each one's personality as best I could on this size canvas as well as pay attention to composition, so hopefully that worked out well. Since the custom widget boxes aren't very wide on dA, I squeezed 'em lol. I love that in representing everyone's personalities, Kyndriel is just fucking laying on the ground, makes me laugh every time.
CharactersIf you're interested, you can learn more about the characters in their respective links below. Not everyone has a completed folder yet and they're all geared toward commissioned artists so they aren't fully-detailed biographies, but they contain more art and information if desired!

Nope! Basically, my character Talen had a girlfriend IC that was the character of my abusive ex. When I finally managed to sever contact with said ex, it meant Talen lost his girlfriend, except he wasn't as happy about it as me. He was such a wreck IC, I couldn't get him to stop being depressed when I would write for him, even in threads where it made no sense for him to be sad. It was highly frustrating and made it even harder for me to heal, since I was dealing with my own emotional fallout. Breakups always leave their cracks, right, even the most desperately needed ones? So anyway, I decided the best solution was for him to have someone else, but he is super... suuuper picky. And I don't currently have my RPG open to where he could actively seek a new character himself. So I made him Evarina! I designed the perfect character for him so I know he will like her, thereby dodging his "picky" issue. He has healed up perfectly IC and is back to his old self now, and it stopped dragging me down enough that I have healed marvelously, as well. The other reason is that I love love love doing female human character art... but I cannot roleplay them to save my life. So I used to do art of Talen's gf all the time as a surrogate for my human female muse, but with her gone, I suddenly had no females to do art of. This way, I can do art of Evarina any time I want to. Plus it is way, way easier to find good human female commissions than it is to find males, so when I find an artist I want to commission that isn't as good at males or doesn't do them at all, now I can simply order for Evarina instead, and it makes me very happy. Perfect solution!
My plan is to wait until my RPG, Alcryst, opens, and then wait until I find the right roleplayer before I give Evarina to them. She is still quite a while away from having a roleplayer of her own, as I'll be in no rush even once the site opens. But someday she'll be someone else's and can meet Talen IC!
.... sorry for that long explanation. xD it's a mildly complicated situation that caused their unique circumstance, so I got carried away in the backstories and reasons hahaha

Ahh! I really enjoy getting to see all of your characters & their personalities in one place. It's really cool to be able to compare them and see how they are all so freaking amazing/unique but I can still see like you, as an artist, in each one of them. I feel like i'd be able to see them somewhere and be like "oh, yep thats Ruanly." If that makes any sense haha.

Thank you so much! Wow, I don't think I've ever been told I have that recognizable style, like the "signature" feel to a piece that lets you know which artist did it before you even check? I've always wanted to pull that off, so I am just.. beyond words touched and excited that you feel I have that level of recognizability (makin' up my own words haha)

He's just a lil dandy laying on the ground hahahah he's the only non-warrior, non-fierce character so I think the contrast between him and everyone else is hilarious. xD I laughed the whole time I painted him and took much glee in showing him to my roommate who cracked up too lol
