Description
Uploading so I can use it as a thumbnail in Talen's reference sheet deviation. Background color chosen because it matches my site, though I changed it to blue for the feature in Talen's art folder . Unfortunately changing it to blue caused the glow and stars to be blue, too, because of the "overlay" setting I had used, but oh well.
So, I spent several hours overnight making the sword pixel and was happy as pie with it, had some stationary stars and stuff. Then today I began my random, out-of-nowhere animation frenzy, and I realized I just had to animate the stupid scimitar, too. Lemme tell you, spending several more hours on something you thought of as "finalized" is really annoying. xD Especially because all the stationary stars got removed, so it was like backtracking on top of it all. But I had to, okay? And, admittedly, I'm happy I did. It's a bit hectic but that's sort of the point. The scimitar can be pretty overwhelming once it gets going!
Alright, here's the concept: normally, it's just a pretty sword with a slight glow and what appears to be stars trapped in its white-gold blade. However, its "celestial" ability can be activated whenever desired and it will release the stars from its metal, increase the dancing glow, and breathe out these vibrant cyan stars which will guide its owner to whatever his heart most desires at the time, no matter where it is in Alcryst. Pretty nifty for tracking, right? Obviously based on Jack Sparrow's compass! I look forward to the day he tries to hunt down a target and it leads him to the pub instead and right as he goes "wait, what th--?" he hears his stomach growl and is like "well fuck." IT'S GONNA HAPPEN.
