Just a random night in chat, and one thing leads to another. Could have been far more detailed, but huzzah blobs of black and white with some sketchy lines! And it's 2am, and running on little sleep.FRANK MILLER PRESENTS: AVATAR (??)
Once upon a time, in a world of injustice run by the corrupt Fire Nation...
- AANG is a 112 year-old in a young man's body, spending his life fallen from the Monks teaching, wandering the world looking to escape his destiny.
- ZUKO is a vigilante out for vengeance to restore his lost honor and his throne.
- KATARA, the Mermaid of the frozen South (not really a mermaid, just the name people gave her), and her water tribe live underwater in an ice dome trying to hide from the Fire Nation. (lulz)
Also, WANG FIRE is a dark and edgy man who has seen too much death and killed too many during raids. End of Book 1 reveals he is SOKKA, a spy for his sister.
Anything I can think of is not epic enough for TOPH.
Random other completely OOC roles:
- AZULA - they princess to the nation, beautiful and terrifying and sadistic. Lots of bondage wear. In Frank Miller's AVATAR, Azula orchestrates everything, even the death of her father in a climactic Book 2 ending so she would take the throne in his place.
- MAI is the silent assassin who is sent to seduce Zuko but falls in love after a battle across city rooftops.
- TY LEE acts as the gaang's companion and guide who is straaangely knowledgeable in Fire Nation karma and tactical position - and then betrays them by killing JET, who had aligned his little all-benders union to Aang.
...However, Miller would turn the Kyoshi warriors into a group of ninja hookers. (*cry*)

omg! Hilarious yet epic concept! This demands to be written. I think Mai's role in the story should have been the one in the show!!!
ahem, now for Toph...
A legend in the grungy city slums of Ba Sing Se's underworld. She was a prodigy from a young age; a little rebel princess born into the powerful and well-to-do Bei Fong clan, a family among many other rival gangs. Hers was a world of intrigue, vendettas, powerstruggles, and riches beyond indulgence. She was to be Bei Fong's heir, the next in line of the crime lords.
But not everyone was happy with Ba Sing Se's streets being ruled by Bei Fong's little girl...
One night, the Bei Fong estate was put under seige. Assasins from one of Bei Fong's rivals desecrated the property, along with the entire Bei Fong family...
Save for one child.
Elite earthbender assasins searched far and wide for the little girl they sought ransom for, killing everyone and anyone in their way. Little Toph hid from them, witnessing her own parents' death. Anguished, she took on the assassins boldly, resulting in an accident that blinded her. She barely escaped alive.
Although most will tell you she didn't survive the tragedy: there are no more living members of her family. Others will tell you they see a small girl roam the streets at night, seeking the ones who murdered her family. She's a little avenger, an elite earthbender herself, a BLIND BANDIT....

It would have been a different story if Frank Miller had written it. Ang would probably be a middle-aged nomad, all the girls would've either been prostitutes, assassins, or victims, and Ozai would have either been a child molester, a cannibal, or just really fat and bastardy. He's a great writer, but not always kid-friendly.

Toph is the rich daughter of a recluse couple that enrichened by sucking up to the Fire Nation and betraying their kingdom. She lives in a palace with 100 employees among guards and attendants, and secretly aids Aang by sending several of her best fighters, led by the mysterious iron-clad Blind Bandit, when he's in danger.
In a twist in book 2, however, we find out that the betrayers were betrayed and killed years ago, and that Toph was blinded on the occasion. Toph in fact enrichened on her own (by cheating on gambling with her sonar-like ability to detect any movement around her in a radius that has yet to be measured, but is very very wide). She also happened to be the Blind Bandit itself; the fighters that usually accompany the Bandit are actually earth puppets that she controls - as are, in fact, all the employees ever seen in her mansion.

Darn, not serious? Poo. The stuff about Aang, Zuko, Katara, and Sokka/Wang Fire sounds absolutely epic to me, and definitely movie-plot worthy. Keep tryin'! I'm sure you can make something for Toph that properly conveys her 9-kindza-awesome presence!

She joins Aang, to get the chance to get the kill the man that would rise her reputation to the highest level, Ozai.
