Description
Splurge of artwork begins! Or continues, depending on whether or not you look at old artwork to new. Or whatever.Anyway! This is my landscape painting done for my Painting class. It was painted on the Duck Pond at my school. To tell the truth it took me maybe a day or two to finish it (it might, or might not, show in the work itself) most of the hours done on the day before I turned it in. I procrastinated so terribly. D:
Okay, so the class was supposed to paint this in class, which means on Monday and Wednesday in the hours between 12 to 3, but it was supposed to be painted outside. So the plan was to paint outside when it was nice and to work on a second painting when it wasn't. The thing was... we had maybe 2 nice days for the last 3-4 weeks of classes, the rest were cloudy/threatening to rain/raining. So it wasn't REALLY procrastination, but rather the weather!
Yes... It was all the weather's fault.
So! This isn't really a picture of the Duck Pond itself. There's a snippet of the Pond in the middle ground. The foreground is actually a real pond with still water and everything. It was supposed to be like a mirror reflection, except there was scum and algae growing on the surface so it was hard to achieve that reflectivity. And the water in the background was even harder 'cuz the wind (whatever wind there was) was disrupting the reflections. What's more is that the mess on the left with the trees and branches literally looked like a mess of leaves and branches, so I had NO idea how to tackle that except to stiple the hell out of everything.
I was trying not to be a perfectionist, but I don't think it worked...
Done in Oil in not enough hours.
